I don't know if many of you know this, but I work part time in a jewellery store. One of my favourite things is emailing our buying team with suggestions for new ranges and items they should buy (my latest idea is for a Pochahontis inspired range) and I get a lot of my ideas from Modcloth because they have such a great range of accessories and so many things i would love to buy if I had the money!
I always notice what accessories people are wearing and how they style themselves. For me personally, my jewellery style is minimal on earrings (I don't do big ones) but i love love love long pendant necklaces and a good stack of bangles on my wrist and if I find a ring i love I thrash it for ages. And for the most part I'm a gold girl over silver, but that rule can sometimes be broken :)
So tell me, what's your jewellery style? Who's inspiring you right now? Personally i love how Alexa Chung pulls her accessories together.
Oh and I just have to mention, this is my kind of bag:
I'm not really into the whole big hand bag thing! I like smaller bags on long chains or straps, particularly anything with engraved leather, a pretty pattern or sequins!
That ship necklace is just... just... precious. I'll definitely be looking for something similiar from now on.

ReplyDeleteI am now making my own jewellery now, mainly necklace. I am very into shells, that's why I am collecting different kind of shells to see how they look together. I love those rusted metals too :)
I just fell a little bit in love with that owl pendant, then saw in the picture underneath that its wings open to reveal a little clock and it was too much for me! I'm bummed it was just my birthday coz if I'd seen this earlier I would totally have asked for it! Ahh well, there's always christmas x

ReplyDeleteI mainly wear jewelry from Modcloth, Topshop, and Urban Outfitters. I don't wear too much jewelry and I always wish I was the type of girl who could wear a bunch of bangles on their wrists and all these rings and everything, but I can't pull it off.
The thing I hate about all those stores is they're so expensive! That's why I only have a few things from them.

ReplyDeleteWell really my inspiration for jewelry has been pirates since about 8th grade. Mainly Jack Sparrow haha. Also, just very whimsical and many blogs have influenced how I put things together.
I love that bag! I'm a fan of little bags too, but I usually take my big Mary Poppins bag everywhere cuz I like to bring my camera wherever I go.

ReplyDeleteWell I definitely know I try to avoid overkill with big earrings paired with a necklace. Sometimes that confuses me a bit. But at the moment I love long dangly earrings. Earrings went out of trend for a while, I think, but now I'm loving them again.
