I ♥ vintage tins

I love old tins and containers and I'm building up a nice little collection. I usually use an old cigar or tobacco tin as a wallet and my house is filled with lovely floral tins holding my tea, or biscuits or secret notes. I have the worst luck actually finding pretty tins whenever i go op shopping- the ones i do find usually end up having ducks on them (seriously, it's so weird, i always find duck tins) or kittens, which isn't really my taste- but lucky i have a lovely friend who gives me a few treats every now and then.

Do you guys collect anything? I'm not a big collector really but i'm always on the look out for bits and pieces to decorate my home with and i love anything old because it just seems to have so much more character.

The above tins can all be found for sale on etsy here, here and here.

  10. Wow what a wonderful collection! Hema has this lovely tins that contain some sort of cookies, but I don't like the cookies and I've been contemplating just buying the tins anyway and giving the cookies to a friend... Should I?

  12. I seem to be on the collect of art at the oment, not just named stuff, but anythihng i can get my hands on, its turning into an expensive hobbie haha. I also like to pick up old jars, not like jam jars, but glasswares from second hand shops, i keep little things like feathers or other insignificant but beautiful things in em.

The tins are just beautiful! Makes me want to go on the hunt for them.

  14. I do collect something. Your tins are cute. Next to me right now, is a bookshelf full of vintage cameras. It is kind of an obsession. I don't have any film, or actually ever use them, yet for some reason, I just have to have them.

  15. Vintage tins are awesome! I found a few rusty good ones in my day. I wish that tin cans were still that cool, too bad they've gone out of fashion.
