Thank you Stardust Sparkle, for introducing me to Tamar Mogendorff's work.
Tamar makes dolls from a variety of fabrics such as linens, wool, tweed and vintage fabrics, accented by vintage buttons, beads, thread and ribbons. She has new dolls every season, so check em out on her website here
Isabelle has the most beautiful face, not to mention I love her style. I'd love to see her featured in artworks by the likes of Kelly Smith or Kelly Thompson.
Do you guys have any people you'd love to see drawn or painted? Who?
Ten Dollar Drawings is a blog by Alicia Lynn Carrier- a freelance photographer and fine artist.
All you have to do is email her at land_camera_land_camera@yahoo.com and tell her what to draw for you and she'll create something beautiful on a brown paper bag, for only $10.
I thought it was a great idea! Here's some of my favourites:
This is absolute genius! The Photographic Dictionary is a website that works like a normal dictionary, but that features some stunning images by our favourite photographers. I think it's such a great idea, i've had fun browsing.
Here are a few of my favourite finds:
bathroom: by Simon Nunn
balloon: by Elo Vazquez
hotel: by Simona Paleari
Go check it out!
Also, I've been meaning to thank Jenna from Oh Bother, for this:
This blog invests and believes in PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships. These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. Check up on these writers! The rules are: This blog award should be sent to your favorite eight bloggers and they, in turn should forward to eight of their favorites. You should include the text for Proximidade (above) in your announcement blog.
I haven't actually chosen who to pass this one onto... I'll get back to you all on that one :P I'm, terrible at tags sometimes, i'm sorry!
I still have some tags to do, i promise i will get onto them soon. In the meantime, everyone should pay a visit to Bubble Gum , my friends blog and enjoy all the beauty of her fantastic taste.
My dear Rosie Posie has tagged me and i'm quite excited do to this one because it seems fun!
It's called the "Show your Heart" tag and the rules are...
With as much creativity as you can muster, show your heart in: 1 picture
1 poem
1 song or piece of music
1 phrase or quote
1 item of clothing
1 place
[And just for fun-] 1 Disney princess!
I don't know how exciting my responses will be but here i go:
Picture:
I just got married in November, this is me and my hubby on the day. I tried to find some other kind of creative picture that sums me up, but really, this was the happiest day of my life and most of who i am is defined by being his wife
Song:
Joanna Newsom is a harp playing beauty, check her out.
Phrase or quote:
"Love others as much as you love yourself"- Matthew 22.39. I want to be moved by love in everything to do. Putting others before yourself and doing things for those in need is the most amazing thing you can do with your time, in my opinion.
Item of clothing:
This outift by Lauren from Lookbook (see more here) pretty much sums up my style. Belted high waisted skirts, a pretty top, gold jewellery and long hair is pretty much me from day to day.
Place:
AFRICA! More than anything else in this post, this describes me. And it goes with my desire to be moved by love. And to be authentic in your desire to love people, you have to move on it because words alone mean nothing. My heart is to work and live in Africa. It feels like i'm already there sometimes.
Disney Princess:
And lastly one of my favourite movies and books growing up was Alice in Wonderland. I don't necessarily think i'm much like her, i'm probably a lot less adventurous but she was a childhood favourite that i've held onto.
Have you seen my latest inspirations? You need to! Read on..
Alice Points blog is amazing and full of so much creativity. She has such great style and looks like she has fun playing dress ups. Go here to check it out.
And i'm liking 'Girls keep Swinging' by Jolijn Snijders at the moment too. Here's a taste:
And lastly, i still can't get enough of Bitterlemons (here) amazing home:
It's nearly the weekend my friends! Who's got something exciting planned??
My guest blogger, and amazing friend Shayla (go here)from over the sea is in the country and here to hang out so that's what i'll be doing.
I've said it before and it's so true. There are some photographers that make me wish wish wish that i had a camera (or two) and a few spoonfuls of talent.
Mike Schwartz photography makes me dream.
Oh and a few posts ago i asked who your favourites actors and actresses are. Seems like there's too much talent out there for us to be able to agree on just a few, but Johnny Depp was mentioned more than any other.
I just watched Finding Neverland again the other day and it reminded me how fantastic he is. I think i'm right, but isn't he filming Alice in Wonderland at the moment? I am sure i heard he is playing the Mad Hatter. That will be amazing.
Edit: Speaking of talented individuals who make your heart ache to have what they have, please head over to here to give your eyes a feast and hopefully inspire some creativity in you!
