Todays question is: How do you stay inspired?
I know we all have those days when it seems like there's nothing to post about and inspiration seems to be hiding away somewhere, so what do you guys do to get it back?
Here's a few of the ways I keep myself creatively fulfilled:
♥- Magazines: Frankie, Russh, Marie Clare, Yen, Oyster... beautiful photography, editorials that make me swoon and ideas for my home/ wardrobe/ life that are creative, interesting and fun
♥- Getting creative! Putting on the Beatles and writing someone a letter, decorating a journal or notebook, making jewelry or rearranging my furniture (sounds silly but i love it.)
♥- Getting out. Getting away from the computer, my cell phone and the television. Taking a walk, visiting a friend, going on a day trip.
♥- Op shopping. I love love love the joy of digging for treasures in little dusty op shops. My favourite is trying to find pretty jars and tins and photo frames for my home and lately I've been finding so many great leather satchels!
♥- The world of blogging. Nothing beats going through your blog roll, visiting every blog and taking it all in. Then visiting every blog on everyone elses blog roll. Photography blogs, home decor blogs, hand made blogs, cooking and baking blogs, cobra snake blogs, art and design blogs... so many amazing ideas, so many amazing talents, so much to take in!
Now it's your turn to tell me how you stay inspired :)

I would have to say lovely blogs to. That and the food network and home decor shows. Magazines are a bit help as well
ReplyDeleteI would say blogging as well..why is it so addicting and so comforting?
ReplyDeletei like it! i was just struggling with this today. thank you for posting!
ReplyDeletei usually just physically write in an actual journal {no keyboards, only a ink and paper}, to see what is on my heart. what emotions do i really feel today? and how can i express that to my readers? i think that is just easier sometimes when i'm not staring at the computer screen. more raw and organic. that sounded totally lame, but whatev.
I'm inspired by magazines, books, blogs, colors and decor.
ReplyDeleteI think my home is looking quite inspirational at the moment too, I've been working a lot on improving the aesthetics and I might do a post with pictures soon! :)
Also, reading other blogs and thinking out post ideas for my own is really inspirational. I love it when I have 50 or so new posts in my reader, because I know there's 50 doses of inspiration waiting for me! :)
i would have to say blog rolling too. :P
ReplyDeletehaha, i know, everyone says that.
but i am trully inspired(and jealous) by people's blogs
xo, stefanie
oh there's my blog. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI would say blogs and mostly blogs with beautiful pictures.
oh, you linked to my twinsister! I like your blog!
ReplyDeletegreat post!
ReplyDeleteBlogging, blogging, and blogging! Oh, and magazines and op-shops too. Any reason for some op-shopping sounds good to me ;)
you don't "stay inspired", it just happens, with the things you see and go through everyday :)

Indeed, blogs! Every time I get in a funk about my wardrobe I start nosing around on blogs and see great ideas for the things I already have just seeing it in a new light saves me money and irritation!
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog, it's lovely!
I stay inspired by swimming in all the amazing blogs I find, just like yours! your blog ispires me a lot!
ReplyDeleteoh inspiration, I don't think i would get anything done without it.
ReplyDeleteThe main thing I do when lacking inspiration is write lists, lists of all the creative things I want to do, and then I get so super excited and feel all organised and like I'm going to achieve something! haha. regardless of whether I follow the lists or not!
but yes what would I do without blogs, magazines, photography especially really old family photos.

Blogging is definitly an inspiration. However magazines re what really get me in the mood to create. Im a very visual person and but i also love texture and matarials so i think that is hy magazines grab my attention, i can hold them ad feel the paper between my hands. I love frankie, yen, fallen, spook, monster children and Peppermint.
ReplyDeleteGoing for walks down my garden is also a good way to connect with naure and feel inspired.

I find getting away from the computer and spending some time in nature the most helpful strategy...sometimes you just need your mind to rest away from all the 'stuff' we acculate to get some fresh ideas.
ReplyDeletewow! i loved reading this, thanks for sharing. You know, your blog is truly inspiring. I love coming here. amazing photos :)
ReplyDeleteWhen I feel uninspired it really puts me in a slump, so I try to do one of two things. I do the most random thing I can think of right away just to get my energy up, or I set a goal to accomplish and give myself a reward when I'm done, like chocolate or coffee :)
ReplyDeleteBlogs do keep me inspired, but lately I've just been inspired 24/7. By doing things that inspire me, drawing, taking pictures, making things out of felt and beads and sequins. Just seeing some beautiful fabric, paper or color is usually enough.
ReplyDeleteBeside of blogs :) for me books are really inspiring! For example the stories of Oscar Wilde are pushing my creativity. And the other thing is going out in a museum or to an exhibition.
ReplyDeleteso many too many things to list
ReplyDeletebut one thing that always gets me

I agree about the blogs. Opening my GoogleReader I go through my subscribed blogs in a particular order:
ReplyDelete- Art and Design related blogs
- Food related blogs
- Personal blogs
- Education blogs
I leave education for last cause I usually get really drawn into it. I also get quite inspired to blog myself then.
I think I would say pretty photography inspires me the very most. I just love this question, ma'am, it made me think a lot about it!
ReplyDeleteI also consider blogging as an inspiring one. Because there i express what i feel and what i want. Hhmm..What else?! =D

wauw i like your blog so much
ReplyDeleteI stay inspired by internet, magazines, blogs, shows, taking photo's outside etc :)
xoxo
mine is pretty much the same as yours.. except the op shopping :p i can't stand op shops. i like new things and not old ones.. so yea, i guess just shopping in general inspire me as well.
ReplyDeleteI notice when my brain is feeling cloudy and mucked up I'll put on some nice, dreamy-like music, lay down, close my eyes, and try to capture what I see when I hear the music. Once I see a few things I'll play around with them and more things open up.
ReplyDeleteIt's quite relaxing too :)
At the moment, I am truly struggling to stay inspired. For the first time in years I am working full time, and for over a month I was spending as much time in transit, as I was working each day. That has thankfully ended now, but working with children also means that I keep getting sick as my immune system is adjusting! It's all just a little bit much!
ReplyDeleteThat being said, as things start leveling out - I am inspired by music, books, reading pretty blogs such as yours :D, reading Frankie magazine, and just getting out and seeing new things. Also updating my own blog, as it makes me feel a sense of pride and I then have a drive to continue doing creative things :)
xx
I try to spend time outdoors everyday, just looking at the little things, colors, odd twists that nature shows. Reading, art and blogs are my indoor-inspirational source :)
