I don't know how I missed hearing about this seeing as it's in New Zealand which is where I live but this is a Tree House Restaurant made by our phone directory the Yellow Pages. It was made as part of an advertising campaign to help people see yellow in a different light (the same campaign also involved the creation of yellow flavoured chocolate! I haven't tasted it yet but I'm curious what "yellow" would taste like.) and I think it's pretty amazing.
I'm struggling to find the exact location, I just know it's somewhere in NZ. The restaurant is sadly all booked out but I do hear they're thinking of opening it as a wedding venue in the future. Imagine getting married in a tree house!
Here's some pictures of it's construction too. x
Oh and one more thing, credit to the beautiful blog Lace and Tea for finding this. I'm still not sure how I missed hearing about it!

On the way to Warkworth/Matakana - it was meant to be pulled down but it has been so popular they have kept it a little while longer I do believe.

ReplyDeleteLooks like a nice tree house. They would have been able to build it quicker, easier, and at lower cost using http://builderscrack.co.nz though!
ReplyDeleteamazing. i'm getting married later this year, and wish this tree house restaurant was in Aus. to cater to my dreams.
ReplyDelete..Yellow chocolate kinda sounds less appealing..
This was built over a year ago, and was fully booked out weeks in advance (my and my bf tried but failed to book there)...it's not a restaurant now I'm pretty sure, I believe the woods it is in now owns it.

ReplyDeleteAaaah! This treehouse is actually about 20mins from where my family live in Snells Beach - it's about 45mins north of Auckland in a forest, not sure whether it's still open because the tree keeps growing... but last time i visited it look so beautiful glowing in the night :)
