I watched Julie and Julia with my husband last night. It was interesting to see a film that featured the trials and tribulations of maintaining a blog. Not that keeping this one updated and functioning is as tricky as what Julie went through with her huge commitment of 524 recipes in 365 days, but I can still relate to those moments when your post just isn't quite working or when the business of life doesn't allow enough time for blogging. I think we can all relate to that in some way or another, can't we?

i forgot how much i loved this blog! and those photos below (especially of the watery paint jars) are perfect!
ReplyDeleteI was so happy when I saw the top photo. I've been going through a major hot air balloon phase lately. Not really sure why...
ReplyDeleteI also enjoyed Julie and Julia. It's inspiring to see someone take on a huge project for its own sake, not what they will get out of it. It's so hard not to always be thinking of the end result and really be in the moment.
I remember watching that movie and it inspiring me to start a blog! I hope to take on a similar project sometime soon.

Loved that movie. I remember when I was watching it, I leaned over to ask my mom, my blogging doesn't bother you does it? While seeing that I was so afraid I was messing up things at home too.
ReplyDeleteLoved the last picture!
love it
ReplyDeleteOh definitely been there - trying to balance my real life with my blog life. But it's interesting to see just how those two worlds intersect.
ReplyDeleteLoved that movie...and these photos are so pretty too :)

I still haven't seen the film but thank you for reminding me! Hope your weekend is going well :)
ReplyDeleteI completely agree. I felt the same when I watched it! It actually really made me reevaluate the direction of my blog... what is the purpose? What is the goal? It mostly came down to self preservation.

I haven't seen Julie and Julia yet, but I think I might have to. A number of my friends gave it bad reviews, but I need to be the judge of it myself, I think. That being said - what you just said about the movie I can definitely relate to - and I've been really slack with my blogging of late. Need to stop that.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the lovely post - the photos you pick are always lovely. I often wonder how on earth you find these lovely photographers. I search but often to no avail!
