I love Keep Calm and Carry On and all the merchandise they produce but something I never knew (and maybe I'm just behind the ball on this one) but "Keep Calm and Carry On" was actually a propaganda poster produced by the British Government in 1939 at the start of World War II. I had no idea!
But the poster was never used and then the design was rediscovered in 2000 as a decorative theme for merchandise products. I thought it was quite interesting! Unfortunately the products are quite expensive here in New Zealand and so far I don't have any but I wouldn't mind one of those mugs.

I didn't know that either!
ReplyDeleteAnd if I had to chose, I would pick the mugs too! The blue one! :)
I knew :) It's not often I know something!
ReplyDeleteI love anything with this motif on. x
i didn't knew. But very intresting indeed. Love the mugs
ReplyDeleteI Knew! :) xx
ReplyDeleteThere's another mug, with the same layout, that says 'now panic and freak out'. It makes me laugh.
ReplyDeleteDid you also know that copyright on artistic works created by the UK government expires after 50 years, so the design is in the public domain? So there's nothing stopping you from making your own "Keep Calm" merchandise!
ReplyDeletethat's what I need to do! keep calm and carry on...
ReplyDeletehaha that's so interesting!
