What are you reading at the moment? I'm making a big effort to spend less time online and more time reading. Right now I'm working my way through "The Day of the Triffids" and next in line is "On the Road" by Jack Kerouac which I bought yesterday.
Day of the Triffids looks really good! I'm adding it to the pile... Currently though, I'm re-reading Francoise Sagan's Bonjour Tristesse, and Albert Camus' A Happy Death. A friend last night also said that Catch 22 was a must read... hmm. To the books!
Right now I am finishing up reading the third Dune series book called Children of Dune by Frank Herbert and a book called Just Courage by Gary A. Haugen.
i'm reading Frankenstein for my lit. & comp. class. i was a bit surprised at how much i've come to like it. that seems to be a theme with the works we're reading in that class.
i was reading Life of Pi, but i got so busy that i didn't have time for leisurely reading. what i read of it was quite interesting, so i'm planning on picking it back up soon.
I am reading 1984 right now, I really enjoy reading about completely differently structured societies such as the one in Brave New World which is one of my favorite books
i'm reading boys and girls like you and me (short stories, so far pretty good) then i'm reading the girl who played with fire (i loved the girl with the dragon tattoo) finally i'm going to try the portrait of dorian grey again and i'm always reading pride and prejudice (it;s my fav.) i liked on the road a lot too. great summer read and they're filming the movie too this summer.
i totally agree with you less internet more books pledge i'm doing that as well!
I'm reading "Along for the Ride" by Sarah Dessen, but I have 6 pages left! I don't know what I shall read afterwards though. Hmm... Hope you're doing great! xx, ~Abby~
I'm reading the novel My sister's keeper for the same reason to spend less time online. The book is published as a movie as well. but I choose to read the book and Imagen the characters my way.
As I am writing a thesis, most of the books I read these days are about cultural conservation and Airstream brand trailers (yes, seriously). However, two books I strongly suggest are Cruddy by Lynda Barry and Geek Love by Katherine Dunn, both PNW authors.
I just finished reading "City of Glass" by Paul Auster, which was really good and now I am looking forward to the other two parts of the "New York Trilogy" :)
I'm currently reading "Lion Boy", a book I've been ignoring for years..and turns out to be quite interesting. ;) After this, I have "The Golden Road" and "The Story Girl" on the line.. maybe it was because I spend more time reading books so my blog is not continuously updated.. >.<
I haven't read On the Road yet but I hear it's fantastic. I study literature and writing at uni so at the moment I have just started: Great Expectations, Madam Bovary
I am halfway through: Tess of the D-Ubervilles, Oliver Twist,
I have almost finished: Lolita
I have yet to read: Atonement, several Shakespeare plays.
I love Day of the Triffids. I have read it dozens of times (I'm not exaggerating)! I'm (as always) reading several books and yesterday I finished "Bloodletting and Miraculous Cures" by Vincent Lam.
hmm i havent been quite able to read anything i want to in a while so much school work .. but i would love to read paul hardings Tinkers when im done with all the boring stuff
