(Little Apple)
Lately I have been getting so tired all the time. I'm not sick with anything, I get good sleep at night, exercise regularly and eat a healthy diet. I have NO idea what's causing it but I was wondering if you guys had any "pick me up" suggestions. Like, what is something good to eat or drink during the day that will keep me going? Please no suggestions of coffee or energy drinks- I'm looking for something that won't make me crash later in the day.

Hmmm have you tried gluten free bread?
ReplyDeleteSometimes it can help you feel less lethargic come arvo time.
I'm not a dr, but maybe it's a thyroid issue?
ReplyDeleteMy suggestion is see a doc and for a pick me I love ice cold water to jug down. It's a bit of a shock to your system to wake up.
I've been so tired lately too!!!!!!!!!!!!

As far as your diet goes, just stick as close as you can to how the food was designed to be. Clean eating will pick up your energy and as you pointed out all the things designed to give you energy will just crash you later on. Do you exercise morning or evening? I find if I exercise first thing it energizes me for the day but if I workout in the evening I'm knackered!
ReplyDeleteLove the photos!!

maybe some fruitcoctails can help you
ReplyDeleteps i like the pictures
maybe low on iron? i was low on iron and that affected my energy levels. sometimes you just need to see it through and your energy will come back to you.
ReplyDeletePearl xo
I also suggest seeing a doctor if it gets really worrying. I've experienced something similar and it turned out to be an iron deficiency. As for a pick up, fresh food usually does the trick. A crunchy apple in the arvo does a good job of pepping me up.
ReplyDeleteGood luck, and I hope you get it all sorted and start feeling better soon :)
i was feeling exactly the same, turns out i had an underactive thyroid.
ReplyDeletestupidly i have been forgetting to take my medication lately and im just so tirrredddd!
i found berroca helps me on days like that. did you take any vitamins? hope you're feeling better!!
ReplyDeleteThis is me right now.
ReplyDeleteI don't understand why I'm tired all the time.
LOVE!
Maybe it's because you don't get as much sun as you used to? It's spring here, but every autumn and winter I get tired because I don't have enough vitamine D.
ReplyDeletea little bit of yoga in the morning and night always perks me up and keeps me fresh. like a couple runs of sun salutation is what i usually do. i always finish in child pose...
ReplyDeletethose photos are so nice! I love the effect
ReplyDeleteDrink enough water!
ReplyDeleteThat really helps for me!
Eat bananas.
ReplyDeleteLots of em'.
*p.s I had to sing that song to spell bananas.(:
Get sleep dear.

black tea in the morning, green tea later in the day. the caffeine doesn't "hit" you, but it always makes me feel a bit more alert in a much nicer way. also greens- like spinach and salad- always energize me.
ReplyDeleteMy best guess would be to drink tea?
ReplyDeleteBut this is what my mom suggested when I started getting tired when nothing change. I had my period and she though I might be slightly anemic, thus the cause of my exhaustion? So maybe that's your case now? If that is, perhaps iron pills!
I agree with the sun commenter, the less sun lately is making my energy levels drop!!
ReplyDeletebut as for foods...I like fruit as an afternoon snack...it gives me a bit of a pick me up.
i would advise more exercise! if i do nothing all day, going for a walk always makes me feel more awake.
ReplyDeleteI am hypoglycemic and get very tired and moody if i don't eat enough protein... something to look into :) hope you feel better
ReplyDeleteIm tired too all the time, but I just started reading a book called "The Power of Positive Thinking" It has a whole section on how to get your energy back and it is all by your thought process and connecting with nature and meditating. It's really cool and I feel so much more energized. :) Hope your energy comes back soon!
ReplyDeleteI find that a quick stroll in my lunch break perks me up. Also, lots of water, fruit/low GI snacks so I don't get big highs and lows during the day.
ReplyDeleteoh i'm so glad you post this, I am constantly tired lately. I feel like I can barely keep my eyes open on the way home from work xx
ReplyDeleteHey amanda!

ReplyDeletei have the opposite problem- i'm wide awake and can't fall asleep! i just got out of bed after getting bored with reading in hopes that i can make myself tired by playing on the internet. between being tired during the day or having insomnia- i'm not sure which is worse!
