20 Things to do in 2011

Ziggy Stardust only came into my life a week ago today but already my MacBook photobooth is full of pictures of him and I. I appologise if the little guy temporarily has a take over of my blog but I can't help it- I'm just really happy!

Anyway today I wanted to share 20 things I want to achieve in 2011 and if you guys want to play along and share a list of your goals as well, just leave me a link so I can come see!

♥ Read all the books off this list
Collaborate with other like-minded bloggers on a project or two
♥ Learn to fold paper cranes
Find a new series to follow on DVD (I've been at a loss since finishing the Wire) (Worked my way through all of Gossip Girl)
Buy more prints for our house
Learn how to bake
See my friends who live overseas again (you know who you are)
Buy another film camera- possibly a Holga (Bought the Holga 135BC and won a Superheadz!)
♥ Holiday in Queenstown with the husband and our friends
Go op shopping more often
♥ Buy the White Album (the only Beatles album I'm yet to own)
♥ Learn how to cook Thai food from scratch
♥ Write letters & send packages more often
Have a photo shoot at my house
♥ Grow my own tomatoes
♥ Get back into swimming laps regularly
Have a blog giveaway at least once a month
♥ Adopt another kitten so Ziggy can have a friend
Get business cards printed
Attend New Zealand fashion week

Also what do you guys think of my new header? Thought I would kick off the new year with a new and fresh design. A big big thank you to my wonderful friend Dane from Tornadoes and Tigers for creating it for me.

EDIT: For those of you that are concerned- Ziggy was adopted- not bought and if we get another kitty it will also be adopted. I'm sorry if my choice of words was misleading.

  1. I am in the same boat for so many of these things it's silly! I am sure Ziggy would love a sibling, we have twin sister cats who we have had since they were kittens and they love each other, I am so glad we have two.

  28. Love that you named your cat Ziggy Stardust! My brother had a cat called Morrisey, and if/when I get a pet I'm thinking of carrying on the pet-named-after-a-singer tradition haha.

Hope you achieve everything you set out to do this year!

  31. oh good luck with your to do list this year!!

i've probably mentioned it somewhere but.. i'm pretty bad at new year resolutions so i'd rather not make any list and just do it as i go and do a retrospective at the end of the year, works better for me and makes me feel good hahahahah

for book i'd def recommend 'the time traveller's wife' by audrey niffeneger if you haven't already read it. by far my most favourite book!

and LOVING your new layout xx

  32. oh p.s. can i kindly ask you how you made the numbers on your comment layout? will make it so much easier for a giveaway post!

  33. Hi there! Happy new year! Been following your blog for quite some time but never said anything, so no better way to start the decade than changing some old bad habits! ;)

I've just spend two days watching 1995 bbc's mini-series of Pride and Prejudice. If you haven't seen it, it's definitely perfect for a cozy afternoon! It's only 6 chapters, but it does make for a good in-between series! ;) X

  34. I decided to play along and Ziggy is so cute. I love his name.

  35. AAargh!! My child, the White Album is THE GREATEST. Actually, I adore Rubber Soul, but White Album is just so full of texture!!
I do hope you make all of the list, its so gret making lists then achieving them. Seeing it completed is such a great feeling of satisfaction. You know you've lived life to thefullest when you have done all that :)

  36. Lovely resolutions!! That is the cutest cat ever too.

  37. It's perfectly okay if Ziggy takes over the blog for a while, we all get quite a bit jealous though.

I came across that book list the other day and definitely want to see what all I can read off their although I'm not sure I'd be able to do it all in one year.

  38. I never mind cameos from precious kittens on blogs. I haven't admitted it to many people but I am such a cat person. Your goals are so great! I don't have quite as many, but I'm graduating high school this year. Might as well keep everything manageable!
    Best wishes in 2011!

  39. your kitty is so cute! i want one. and your list sounds absolutely fabulous. cheers to a wonderful 2011!

  40. Oh wow Ziggy is SUPER cute!
I love your list of goals they sound awesome!
    Good luck with them!

    ReplyDelete
  41. a list of things to do is probably better than resolutions. i just blogged about my own list here {http://wallflowersforjane.blogspot.com/2011/01/mmxi.html}

    ReplyDelete
  42. Oooh, If you want a show to watch, I highly recommend Sherlock, starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman. It's only a three part mini series (with season 2 coming out this year), but it is really good!

    ReplyDelete
  43. I must make my resolutions list, thanks for reminding me! Have you tried watching Breaking Bad? We're watching it after the moment, since hubs finished the Wire and we both finished Prison Break. Love it! Good luck with the resolutions :)

  44. Please don't buy kittens, adopt them instead

    ReplyDelete
  45. You really should consider changing your "buy a kitten" to "adopt a kitten"

When you support a shelter, they are able to rescue even more animals, and prevent the awful over population problems.

If you adopt a kitten from a shelter, not only are you giving that animal a loving home, you're opening up the opportunity for the space that animal was taking up to be given to another animal in need and possible save other kitties from being put to sleep due to overcrowding.
