A little confession: I've been thinking about chopping my hair to my shoulders. What do you think?? I am trying to get up the courage to do something bold and different but at the same time it has taken YEARS to get it to this length, so I don't want to regret anything I do. I can't decide, I'm so torn, any thoughts are welcome!

No don't cut it, you have lovely hair!
ReplyDeleteWell I think shorter hair would look great on you!But of course it is your decision! :) until you haven't tried it out you cannot know how it will look on you ...

Oh it's so difficult huh! I know the feeling every time summer comes around I have the urge to go for a Bob. But then I LOVE having long hair... If only hair grew faster then it would be easier. I love your long hair, but then I can imagine it would look lovely at shoulder length too :( tough
ReplyDeleteI think my vote would be no.
My gut feeling would be to keep it as is, or at still relatively long. I had a bob two years back and there were was just so little to do with it. But, I did like my bob quite a bit while I had it so it really is up to you (:
ReplyDeleteCHOP! Only because Rachel just did it. It's looks good : )
ReplyDeleteDon't chop it! It's so beautiful <3
ReplyDeleteI think your long hair is lovely. But I also think it would look awesome on you if you would soften the contrast between your bangs and the rest of your hair with a few layers. You could keep your base length but at the same time spice it up a little.
ReplyDeleteYour hair is beautiful! But I'm sure it would look nice short too. Sorry Im not much help.

CHOP. You can donate your gorgeous locks, and you will love how light it feels on your shoulders. Shoulder-length is still totally long enough to play with.
ReplyDeleteThis is a hard decision! Maybe a bit shorter? Take little steps!
ReplyDeleteYou have a such wonderful hair, do not this!
ReplyDeleteDO NOT CHOP IT! You hated having shorter hair and spent the whole time complaining about short hair. so NO.
ReplyDeleteChop it! I’m all for change. Change is good. Especially with your new career path and things! Or, you could go to just below shoulders instead....? Often when I get my hair cut shorter, my hair ends up shorter and shorter, and then I grow it again. A slightly vicious circle really! You have a great face that could pull off a shorter style me thinks. x
ReplyDeleteI used to have hair your length and recently chopped it to where it just barely grazes my shoulders. I did it right after graduation and it was so freeing. It was bold and I LOVED it. This seems to be a period of change in your life (changing jobs, etc) and it could be an awesome move! If you don't want to cut it to the shoulders right away, try gradually going. Get a few inches and if you regret it there is little harm done and if you still want it shorter you can do that. Give yourself some time to adjust to the change! It's your decision of course, but I say take a chance <3
ReplyDeleteput it this way. . .I've had really short hair and extremely long hair. When I last cut my hair short it killed me and finally it is long again. I think long hair is still more unique in this time period compared to short hair. Every time I saw someone who really did have long hair after I cut my hair, it just made me miss my long hair that much more. Finally it is 28" long and hopefully soon it will be back to what it used to be which was 34". I urge you to keep it long. Hopefully if you DO decide to cut it, you won't be sad. It is annoying to wait even 6 months to two years for hair to grow more even if it does grow back as people always say.
ReplyDeleteno! don't
ReplyDeleteI had my hair as long as yours and I recently cut it just above my boobs (lol). I do not regret and I am glad I did it, it feels so good to have something different.
ReplyDeleteIf you want to cut it, cut it little by little, I wouldn't go all the way to the shoulders yet, just in case you decide to leave it long.
If you do end up cutting it and do not like it, do not worry! It WILL grow back :) Just think of that!
I'm sure it would look lovely but NOOOOO don't do it!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I love your outfit :)

Wow that would be brave! Although I'm not sure it would really look that different cause you would still have black longish hair. A real difference would be to cut it into a bob or something :)
ReplyDeleteHaving said that, I love your hair the way it is!
my gut reaction is to say not to-- but-- then i'm like- it could look REALLY cute! and you will never know if you dont try! and hair always grows...
ReplyDeleteAlthough your hair is amazing and you look great with it, (and your cute hat!:), i say go for it!
ReplyDeleteI've had the same long hair for all of my life, and last summer, when it hit +40 here, I also decided to shorten it to the shoulders, but because of the bad haircut I had to shorten it again even more, but I was so glad it turned out this way! - short hair suites me much better, and now i don't have to spend hours every day taking care of it! Earlier it took me about 4 hours to wash and dry it, because my hair is quite thick.
Anyway, you will never know which way suits you better unless you do it :)
I think you're hair is great! It would be such a shame to cut it. Although, you could still do just as much with it as you can do, and a change is always good!
ReplyDeleteIt will be lovely for summer! :)

It's a difficult question.
ReplyDeleteI have long hair, too
And I often think about that.
I can't say it.
But I love your long hair it looks beautiful.
The dress is very beautiful

i chopped my hair of last year and i have been so sad ever since! it takes too long to grow back. though i'm sure it would look so great! :)
ReplyDeletedon't shop it all off maybe get a trim to make it even.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Jeremy....you worked so very hard! wait til u have ur first babe and then chop it out of necessity. You can only really enjoy long flowing hair in your youth until it gets annoying and looks out of place so enjoy, grow and no cutting!
ReplyDeletex
P.S. Actually you need to keep it long until you're an old lady with me so you can tie it in a top knot and I can dye mine red and spike it ;) bah! Grannies for life
no choppy! i love your long hair!
ReplyDeleteI think you need something that makes you different, so either very long hair or really short!
ReplyDeleteoh gosh thats a hard decision. I am in the process of my growing my hair out and it takes forever. if you arent sure about it then dont do it!
ReplyDeleteYour hair is beautiful! I would say don't but it's your choice :)

nooo, you have the most pretty long hair T_T I wish a hair like yours... what products you have?
ReplyDeleteI did so some months ago, now I just keep looking at my hair all day hoping it is longer than two minutes ago! haha.
ReplyDeleteSo don´t! Your hair is beautiful and looks cool like that!
No no no! Don't cut it. Maybe get some layers, then see how you feel...
ReplyDeleteAt Christmas I had all my hair cut off into a pixie and LOVED IT. But then, my hair is a scraggly mess when it's long and it's such a relief not to care.
ReplyDeleteYour hair is gorgeous so you don't have that incentive... Be brave! Take the plunge! Hair always grows back, and think how freeing it could be :)
Hello, Sweetie
No way No Way. No Way.
ReplyDeleteKeep it long. . (: It's beautiful. . I would love to have hair your length. . It takes so long to grow!!
noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
ReplyDeleteyou will regret it...I sometimes have nightmares that I cut my long hair and wake up relieved to find that it is still long...
its such a difficult thing, usually people miss their long hair...and sometimes they look brand new with shorter hair
ask yourself what would Rapunzel do??
I am heading over to find you on chictopia xxx
Karin (from Wunderlust)
I used to have very long hair when I was 14, past my waist in fact. Honestly I got sick of it, I suppose there are some styles that you can do, but there is such a thing as too long, and I felt it was. I thought about how long it had taken to grow too, but it really depends on your feelings - I was personally sick of it so I didn't regret it. I've had my hair long several times since then, but I just think there so much more style in shorter hair. I wouldn't say shorter hair is easier to care for, unless you go really short. It still needs to be washed, styled etc.
ReplyDeleteI say, if you're ready for a change, do it.
You will still be just as pretty, not to mention it grows back :)
i had long hair and chopped it and i miss it, but it was a nice change for a while it comes back
ReplyDeleteI had hair past my bum and chopped it up to my chin recently and I LOVE it! Your hair is beautiful long, but if your hair grows fast, why not try something short and new?! You only live once, my dear :)
ReplyDeleteIf you feel like you need a change go for it. You'll look good either way. Chin length would work well.
ReplyDeleteMy hair takes a long time to grow too, but I was feeling so bored with the length I decided a change was in order and cut it to my shoulders to.
ReplyDeleteMine wasn't as long, but I do miss it. However, hair grows back and you're young! You have tons of time to grow it back and if you really feel a change and are 100% for it, I say take a leap of faith. You might enjoy it a lot more once you do.
♥
Miss Cris
DON'T do it. I did that once. horrible horrible mistake.
ReplyDeleteThis is a tough one...
ReplyDeleteWhen you love it, there is nothing better than chopping off your hair. When you hate it, there is nothing worse. :/
I've always had shorter hair, but last year I decided to cut it RIDICULOUSLY short (i.e. the Mia Farrow pixie) I LOVED IT. :)
Hair always grows back, you know? Cutting my hair short always gave me a catharsis, you know? I say if you want to, go for it! ;)
I had your length hair a few years ago, and I decided to cut it shoulder length. I'm sorry to say, I immediately regretted cutting it. I enjoy the styling possibilities that come with longer hair. Not to mention the fact that you REALLY need to trust your stylist to not give you a bad cut!
ReplyDeleteThat being said, either way you'll look gorgeous. If anyone can pull it off, you can :)
do it, do it!
ReplyDeletehair will grow back, and you'll never know if you like it that way until you do it. I'm quite certain you'll still look adorable with shorter hair!
Hahaha love the response from your hubby.
ReplyDeleteSO i'm the first to be all 'I LOVE WAVY CHOPPY LONG BOBS!' But, in saying that I have never ever been brave enough to cut my hair either. Not even a fringe. It's always been long. I think it would look gorgeous if you did it, and i'd APPLAUD you. But yes. I totally understand the agony over this sort of decision.
Try to think back to how you felt when your hair was shorter? Maybe you're just over monotony of long hair for the moment, but you would actually miss it if it was gone?
chop! you won't regret it! warning: cutting off your hair is addictive.
ReplyDeleteCut it! What's the worse that can happen? Hair grows back. Knowing is better then not knowing! Plus, I cannot tell you how amazing it feels, especially that first wash after!
ReplyDeletenot to chop! My sister had hair as long as yours and cut it to her shoulders... she lasted about 10 days and then got hair extensions. Your hair is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHair grows back... Think of all the fun and groovy things you can do with it when you get tired of having it short and decide to grow it back out!
ReplyDeleteI used to have this same issue, but after having my son for some reason it changed. Now I just do what I feel like, till I don't feel like it anymore, then change again!
Good luck! PS you're beautiful regardless of your hair length or style. Truly.
I used to have hair that long. I eventually cut it like boy short...I loved it for years but now that I am trying to grow it out its so frustrating that I cut it so short. Its almost bust length now but its taken foooorever
ReplyDeleteyour hair is your trademark, bur chopping it to shoulder-length would be wonderful! I can totally imagine it
ReplyDeleteWahh, no! I love your hair! If you want change, you should just get lots of layers, so that you don't have to sacrifice length. I have been growing my hair out because of you actually, because I love your hair so much!
ReplyDeletehiii! First time on your blog! How did I not stumble upon it sooner? you're beyond adorable!!!!! LOVE YOUR HAIR, don't cut it!!!!!!!!!!!! You will regret; its soooo beautiful!
ReplyDeleteNew follower!

Noooooo!!!!! Don't do it!!!! I know you might be wishing to change it up a bit, and once it is done, you might be happy but that might only last a short while. Then you might hit the phase of regret. My hair is really fine, so I have to keep it short, but if it had a thicker texture, I would DEFINITELY have it long like yours. It's so pretty and it looks lovely on you, especially with your blunt bangs.
ReplyDeleteYour blog is so cute- I don't know how I hadn't found you before. I found you through Wunderlust and am now following! xx
I say don't chop it! I am trying to grow my hair long again after chopping it off a while ago and I had forgotten how long it takes!
ReplyDeleteLaura - White Winters
Noooooo! your hair is to amazing to cut. Am trying to grow my hair long atm. Wishing it was your length.
ReplyDeleteMaybe put a rinse in it if you want something a bit different????
ps. listen to the hubby, he knows best :)
Last year I had hair a little shorter then yours. And due to the state of it and my want of a 'change' I chopped it. Though I had so much fun with it short, easy and very classy I wouldn't do it again!! It's so easy to regret and it takes so long to come back!! I hope you make the right decision. :)
ReplyDeleteYour just bored of life with long hair and the need for change. Maybe start with getting your spilt ends done and see how you feel then. It will only be a few inches but I bet you'll feel it immensely.
ReplyDeleteTough decision, your hair amazing. Maybe get a few inches off first and see if you like it? You'll suit it either way :) xx
ReplyDeleteI like the hairstyle you so feminine
ReplyDeleteYour long hair is lovely. . . .but I know that I always like change and cutting your hair is a really liberating thing to do, I tend to cut it short then grow it long again! It will always grow back so if you feel the need to cut it then I say go for it!!!

awww don't chop it! so pretty! and fun! weeeeeee
ReplyDeletexxxxxxxxxxxxx
don't do it - you have beautiful hair!
ReplyDeleteI love your hair it is so lovely. Mine is almost as long and i don't think i would have the strength to cut it off, i admire you if you can! I just think it might be limiting in what you can do but also, it will look really cute!
ReplyDeleteLovely jacket!!!:D Looks great!!:D
ReplyDeletexxx
YES! I would do it, if i were you. Not that it doesn't look great now, but i think it would look great and fresh!
ReplyDeleteI really love this outfit!
ReplyDeletewith that hair colour and fringe, it would look awesome to the shoulders but cut off all that lovely long hair? i think if you need the change you can feel it
ReplyDeleteBright Green Laces
I was having a similar dilemna, I spent two years growing it long and now I want it back to a pixie crop.. But I've decided to wait until Winter (UK) and if I'm still doubting my long locks I'll go for the chop! I think your long hair looks lovely and LOADS of people have shoulder-length hair, it's nice to be different! Hx
ReplyDeletewww.helenlimbrick.com
dont its amazing loveit!!xx
ReplyDeletei think a shoulder crop would look beautiful!!! besides, it will grow again (& it is a safe length) ^_^
ReplyDeleteYour hair is lovely BUT I think you'd look stunning with it bobbed to about chin length. If you've been thinking about it for ages (and enough to mention it on here) I say do it - otherwise you're just going to spend the next six months still wondering what it would look like until you eventually decide to get it done!
ReplyDeleteI think you'd look wonderful with shoulder length hair but your hair is amazingly beautiful now too. I'd lean toward no unless you're 100% certain that's what you want to do otherwise you might do it, regret it, and have to wait a long time to grow it back out.
ReplyDeleteHair grows back! I have shoulder length hair with a fringe and always get complimented on it. Go on, you only live once.
ReplyDeleteDONATE IT!
ReplyDeleteooo i think chop, it's lovely long but i think short will frame your face nicely and give it a little edge!
ReplyDeleteOh man, I don't know... you'd definitely suit it shorter, but it looks lovely how it is and there's definitely no going back once you go for the chop (apart from extensions, obv)... just go with what you feel, babes. x
ReplyDeleteyour hair is beautiful but i love change. :)

ooooh i vote not to cut. i think there's a limited time in a girl's life that they can get away with having hair this long (mine's getting there too and i know it's a long haul!) and the length just makes it so much more versatile. if you want it to look shorter, you can put it up! there's lots of time to cut it later in life :-)
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, I recently had to cut my hair as it had become very damaged at the ends, and even though it wasn't terribly long, I so hate it being short now because I absolutely adore long hair. If you ask me, get some layers put in, perhaps? That's the best way to make it feel and look different without really affecting the overall length!
ReplyDeleteI bet it'll look gorgeous either way, really. xo
NO NO NO NO NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletebwahahahaa i just got my head around this post now i'm lol-ing at jeremy's comment in caps lol lol lol
ReplyDeleteok so here's what i think. you have such beautiful hair and i like it long but at the same time, looks like you've had a long hair for so long now? i'd say chop it but maybe not in such a dramatic super short hair style, then if you're confident and want it shorter you can chop it off further. OR if you end up hating it, then you can grow it back!
let me know what you end up deciding! i think you'll look gorgeous regardless!!
don't do it! I had lovely long hair like you and felt all antsy a year ago and chopped it all off. It's been growing and growing since and its no where nearly where it was. It wasn't the change I needed...you know.
ReplyDeleteyou have such pretty hair! oh gosh what a tough decision. I have been trying to decide whether to chop mine off too. It has taken while to grow though...so I'm keeping it a little while longer x
ReplyDeleteTough you have a beautiful long hair, i think giving some fresh and new look by choping your hair is better :)
ReplyDeleteLiz Secret Rendezvous
It's your decision and hair. So think about it. But in my personal opinion, shoulder length is so common and normal... your long hair is beautiful and an eye-catcher, so why cut it off?
ReplyDeleteI say chop it, it's only hair. I haven't had my hair as long as yours in quite some time but when I decided to go shorter, it was right after it was longish with bangs and I wanted a medium length bob with long tresses on the sides. 2 mos later I got it cut really shorter and then grew it out for 14 months. Just get a great cut that looks good growing out for a long time, nothing high maintenance. I don't think you will regret the change at all!
ReplyDeleteThis is the cut I mentioned, FYI: http://www.hairstyles-haircuts.net/japanese-hairstyles-trends
Don't chop it off! Everytime I grow my hair out and I chop it off I regret it. Besides your hair is SO long and gorgeous!
ReplyDelete♡
Meanz (Koi Story)
i think it would make you look younger but it would also make you look like everyone else. the long hair is something very unique that not everyone pulls off.
ReplyDeletei wish my hair were straight so that i could get away with it
Chop and donate!! =)
ReplyDeleteDont spoil your beauty by cutting your hair. You have beautiful hair. And you look gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteWatch The X Files Episodes
Don't chop it short just yet! You HAVE to curl them first. I think it'll look super rad.
ReplyDelete
