Right now we're in the middle of a pretty cold winter here in New Zealand and normally at this time of year my wardrobe is full of all things black to match the gloomy weather. But this year I've ended up wearing more colour than ever before and it's made winter not seem so bad somehow.
One thing I'm loving especially is brightly coloured nails. I got them done at a salon in bright blue recently, and then when that started to chip, Sone came over for a cup of tea and kindly shared her bright yellow OPI with me. So pretty. Now to decide what colour to wear next, I'm thinking sea foam green. What nail polish colours are you enjoying at the moment?

Thank-you for the comment my lovely, that's so kind of you.. You've made me so cheery! I'm definitely following you back I'm in love with your blog!
ReplyDeleteThat colour is amazing! And I'm liking the sound of "sea foam" green indeed! I'm loving navy blue on my nails right now, although they chip so much! :[

Lovely colour. I think it's a great idea to keep your wardrobe bright to keep the gloom and doom of winter away!
ReplyDeleteI love opi! Any colour as long as it's opi!
ReplyDeleteI wear quite a few brights during winter, too! I think it's great to go against the gloomy weather, hehe. Love that nail colour - would definitely brighten up any day!

This post makes me want to have tea and cookies. Maybe later on tonight! I really love your blue nailpolish and the yellow one looks so fun. I always love corals and sometimes I'm really drawn to blues like the one you have on.
ReplyDeleteAt least you don't get this much snow: http://blog.afiori.com/2011/01/snow-snon.html
ReplyDeleteor... do you?
I'm terrible in Winter, the only nail polish I wear is a beloved dark purple one I have. The complete opposite of what you're trying to achieve!
ReplyDeleteI am really into shades of pink lately. My current favorite is a rose-pink that's very soft and subtle. I am always so bad at keeping it nice though. I put it on the one day and then decide I want to rummage through old boxes in the basement... at the end of the day it's usually already chipped. Oh well... that's what some people call "shabby chic" , right?
ReplyDeleteI've never been a colorful nail polishes fan but lately I've been changing my mind about that and I've been wearing a lot of yellow. Now I want to give blue a try! :)

ReplyDeleteOh, nail polish!
ReplyDeleteI've never been good at wearing nail polish on my finger nails, because it always cracks and I'm so bad at putting it on my right hand, as I'm right-handed myself. But lately I've been thinking of giving nail polish on my finger nails a second chance. Maybe I can practise and make it prettier?
Do you have any good tips on how to make it last longer?
I always wear nail polish on my feet, even though hardly anyone sees my feet, because it is too cold with sandals most of the year in Denmark.
Greetings from Denmark.
P.S. I totally forgot to tell you that I really like your new hair cut! :-) It can be so refreshing with a hair cut.
I have that color, its beautiful and so bright, looks great with black outfits or more color XD
ReplyDeletei like the vibrant blue color on you!

Oh, it's so strange to think that it is winter right now some places. Here in Los Angeles we are in the middle of hot, hot summer and I can't help wishing it was the dead of winter. My outfit today reflects this (thick white blouse and autumn leave theamed dress) as does my nail color (what I call a deep russian burgandy red). Enjoy your winter! Soon it will be summer again.
ReplyDeletelovely post,always love your images!
ReplyDeleteAh, I love that yellow color. Looks very neat!
ReplyDeleteI just applied some nail polish called 'Flamingo Red' or something. It's very pink-ish - but I'm gonna apply a nail sticker on top and then it's perfect. :)
Btw, I love those mugs.
XOXO.
Purple! When I can find time to do my nails. I like to try & wear brightish colours in winter. Makes it feel less gloomy.

I love that colour varnish, wearing colour in the winter is really hard I find, you automatically wear colours that match the tone of the weather!

At the moment I have gold nail polish on. I would love a yellow and maybe some more pastel colours. That blue you are wearing looks great.

I'm currently wearing the glittery coral chanel one from their summer collection, but it's long overdue and flaking.
ReplyDeleteI think I'll replace it with the yellow one!
And the Essie bone white one is on top of my wishlist! :)
Have you seen all the crazy nail designs on pinterest? Swoon. I'm wearing hot neon pink on my toes. I think I hate it, but I think I also secretly love it too...
ReplyDeleteAh, there must be something in the air at the moment! I just bought some new nailpolishes too. It's such a nice way to add a little bit of colour in the middle of winter! I usually like pale pinks or neutrals, but my favourite colour at the moment is mint green :)
ReplyDeleteLove the yellow! I just painted my fingernails lavender, matte black, and mint green. I can never choose just one color :P
ReplyDeleteYou have the cutest little blog! Love love love!

Seafoam green is my go-to color for everything! I even painted my bed frame that color, it's beautiful! I'm totally diggin that yellow though, what a perfect summer color! THank you for your sweet comment on my blog :) xxAnisa
ReplyDeletei have been the same this winter - trying not to just fall back on the usual blacks and greys and wearing more colour to make the winter season seem a little nicer :)
ReplyDeletei haven't been wearing too much nail polish lately, but i am a little bit in love with lavender at the moment. so i guess if i was going to buy a new one, it would be lavender :)
I love bright fuchsia and matching lipstick to brighten up a cold winter day! I love the idea of coral nails + lipstick but don't think it would suit me. It's so lovely to find a blogger who is also experiencing winter right now :) x
ReplyDeleteGreat blue colour!

I love that shade of yellow! And the blue you already have on.
ReplyDeleteI'm a fan of bright nail colours at the moment too - though it's summer here. I just tried Absolutely Shore from Essie. It's such a wonderful sea foam green! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm loving this shimmery, gold-leaf type polish I have on now. My toes look like gold nuggets! Haha! They're mesmerizing!
ReplyDeleteI think it's called "Bling Dynasty" by OPI :)
i'm a total fan of my glittery yellow YSL nail varnish. (which u can also see on my blog!)yours looks brill as well!!
ReplyDeleteLove the nailpolish!
ReplyDeletehttp://sweetharvestmoon.blogspot.com
the cups are too cute. that yellow is wonderful too. :)
ReplyDeleteit's summer here and i'm wearing a lot of pale yellows and greens!
ReplyDeleteI'm in the same boat as you - usually winter for me means lots of black but this year I've had not desire to wear it much at all. I think it's because here in Brisbane we've barely had a winter - its been so clear and sunny that wearing black just feels a bit depressing.
ReplyDeleteIf you like bright blues you should try opi What's with the Cattitude?
ah that's nice! it's summer here, but i recently went shopping and got some really nice outfits for winter - not even trying it! but i'm really excited to wear it and watch the snow fall :)
ReplyDeletealso, just the other day i got a lilac nail polish! i love it! but a few weeks ago i got a minty green, which i also love!
have a great week :)
I've been in exactly the same mood! Since winter started, my nails have been mint green, purple, shockingly bright yellow, a lovely coral I got in New York, and now blue pretty similar to yours. Colourful fingernails brighten up the chilly mornings. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love your bowler hat! I can't wait till it get's cooler here so I can wear my bowler hat lots.
ReplyDeleteOoh! Sea foam green is probably my favorite nail polish color ever! I wish I could keep my nails nice, but I'm starting to realize that that is never going to happen. I'm too impatient to paint my nails every night and I bite my nails if I don't.
