New website launch: Hello Holga

I'm excited to share with you guys a brand new website I'm launching with my good friend Dane, a photography blog called Hello Holga. The site will showcase not only our own photography (including successes and failures) but also tips and tricks and you can also submit your own pictures to share, via our flickr pool.

I'd love it if you guys could take a sec to head over to the blog and follow along so you can enjoy the journey with us! I've been snapping away and can't wait to share some of my own pictures with you all soon :)

Donna Wilson

I think I am in love with every single item in Donna Wilson's store, from the ceramics, to the cushions, stationery, bags and blankets. But I think my favourite item has to be the tea towel that says "use my beard to dry your dishes," (pictured above) how cute is that!

Dreamy white interiors

Today is a day off from work for me and I've spent all morning saving, favouriting and bookmarking some interior inspirations while enjoying a cup of coffee and a relax. I still can't escape being drawn to white interiors with colour accents in the details like a rug or some cushions, it looks so beautiful. I can't wait to own my own house one day!

For more interior inspiration head to Mackapar.

Edit: Oh and I wanted to say- if you're interested I'm doing one of those 31 day photo challenges on my blog facebook page :)

New Zealand beauty (and woman of many talents- photgrapher, musician, muse to Madam Hawke and blogger to name a few) Chelsea Jade Metcalf did a shoot for NZ site always, sometimes, anytime late last year that I've been meaning to share.

She took a series of self portraits for the site and I think the results are so beautiful. Also make sure you check out the rest of the shoot. I love being able to share homegrown talent on here :)

Home Feature

There's a little feature of some corners of my home and a small interview with me over on Tornadoes and Tigers today, you can see the rest of the pictures and the full post here. I'm just renting at the moment so a lot of the things about the house itself aren't perfect, but I make the most of it and love filling my world full of op shopped/ vintage/ etsy treasures. Hope you guys enjoy!

Pony Hunter

Pony Hunter is a great New Zealand fashion blog, definitely worth checking out :)

In other news I bought my husband the Holga 135BC over the weekend so it should arrive in the next day or two. I have to admit, I say that it's for him, but I'll definitely be borrowing it for some photo adventures of my own as well!

I'm happy to have a Holga that takes 35mm film instead of 120 because in NZ the 120 costs about $50 to develop 12 photos!!! Which is a habit I don't think I can afford.

Anyway if there are any Holga lovers reading this post, I'd love and appreciate any tips and tricks you can give me (*cough, my husband).

Zooey's Miscellany

I was so happy to discover recently that our beloved Zooey Deschanel has a tumblr (see it here) and then it got even better when a day or two ago she shared the new She & Him video. It's all kinds of awesome so I had to share it here as well in case any of you guys haven't seen it yet. Ah Zooey, she's always so wonderful!

Natalie Kucken

There's lots of inspiration over at Natalie Kucken's photostream, why don't you go take a look. And here's the best part: she's only sixteen years old! Amazing! She also has a tumblr as well.

In other news, yesterday I found out my cat from my childhood was hit by a car and passed away :( He was the most amazing little guy and will be truly missed.

Meet Rocky

I apologise for the appalling quality of these pictures but our camera is broken (so Macbook photobooth it is!) and I just had to share a couple of pictures of the newest addition to our family: a little black kitten called Rocky. We adopted him from an animal shelter yesterday and he is already fitting quite nicely into our lives and making friends with Ziggy.

So our home is a very nice place to be right now- with two sweet little kitties running around! Adopting a friend for Ziggy was on my list of things to do this year, so I'm glad to have ticked that off. I've also done one or two other things on the list, if you care to take a look (more info on one of them in particular to come soon)

Windy Wellington

Some of you might remember this post I wrote about an American couple Andrew and Carissa who came to New Zealand last year to shoot a wedding. Well while they were here they met up with one of my favourite people in the world and did a photoshoot with her in Wellington and these pictures are the result. To see more head over to Carissa's Portfolio. It's pretty neat for me to see one of my favourite bloggers/ photographers and one of my close friend's collaborating on a project together, hope you guys like it too!

paper sparrow

Andrea Courchene's etsy store Paper Sparrow is a little wonderland of animal themed products such as prints, brooches, magnets, necklaces, buttons, rings and more. My personal favourite item in stock is the mustached-kitty. I was so excited to see two of my favourite things (cats and mustaches) brought together to create one adorable little item.

Andrea also has a blog which I recommend you check out as well :)
