Karen Barbe | Textile Design

Wednesday, March 30, 2011

Karen Barbe is a textile designer from Santiago, Chile who has an inspiring blog and shop full of craft projects, tutorials and patterns. My favourite is the cross stitched mask in the top picture- that would be a fun project with the kiddies one day!

On another note today it's Ilana from See Me Everywhere's birthday, so why don't you head over to her blog to wish her a good one!

Japanese Dress Books

Tuesday, March 29, 2011

Beautiful Japanese dress books filled with tunics and dress patterns, found via here. Even if I couldn't figure out the Japanese instructions in these I'd just want them for my coffee table.

And while we're talking about Japan, Kelli Murray has a really great post (which you can read here) about some of the different and creative ways you can do your bit to donate. Like Kelli says, together we can make a difference!

Just a few snippets from one of my favourite fashion blogs That's Chic. If you haven't checked it out before I definitely recommend! She also has a shop full of beautiful clothing and accessories.

I'm finally getting a memory card for my camera this week so I'll be able to share a few pictures of my own world now and then :) If there's anything you're interested to see let me know!

Autumn Loving

Saturday, March 26, 2011

(one. two)

The colder weather is slowly but surely creeping in here and I am loving all the things that come with it- lots of hot drinks, thick wooly socks, rainy days tucked away inside... ah I love autumn! Last night the husband and I had date night (dinner and a movie- we saw Never Let Me Go which I definitely recommend) which means tonight we will probably snuggle up on the couch with some blankets and a dvd or our books and a home cooked meal. Bliss <3

Hope you all have a lovely weekend x

Oh P.S I went op shopping yesterday and got a thick knitted red jersey, some tea cups and a tea pot as well as a few books and other treats. Might share some pictures next week :)

Photobooth Friday: Round Three

Friday, March 25, 2011

This weeks edition of Photobooth Friday is just me again, but next week I have a bunch of special guests joining me and I'm quite excited to share it with you guys! Nothing much to say about this post, just wanted to show off my cat ornament I thrifted for $1 this week. Also if you're interested my clothes are gifted from Market HQ, you can get the Mink Pink top here and the bowler hat here (I actually live in that hat, it's going to be a staple for my wardrobe this winter I think).

New from Anna Wolf

Thursday, March 24, 2011

When I originally got into blogging Anna Wolf was one of the first photographers I discovered and I still love to check back on her site for any new work. So I was happy this morning when I discovered this lovely little shoot- especially that top one with the fort! Do you have any favourite photographers who you always return to?

In other news I was featured on Grans Loose Change yesterday if you'd like to have a read!

Mary-Kate and Ashley: Vogue 2011

Wednesday, March 23, 2011

Say what you want about Mary-Kate and Ashley but I love them. And it's been a love that has spanned most of my life time since I began following Michelle Tanner on Full House when I was 3. With their acting days behind them and an impressive foray into the fashion industry (including their first CFDA nomination) under their belt, I can't wait to see what else they come up with.

In the meantime I've enjoyed this photoshoot for Vogue and the accompanying article (you can read it here).

Images by Elisabeth Toll

I know some of you are probably expecting me to do an update about my visit to the Diana World Tour but unfortunately due to some untimely events I ended up having to miss it, much to my dismay! But you can see some pictures from it over on Tornadoes and Tigers and See Me Everywhere. And if that doesn't interest you, maybe this tumblr will (it gave me a bit of a laugh).

I Heart my Holga

Just thought I would share with you guys a few of my recent Holga snaps, taken on the 135BC with ISO800 film. I've also been posting some more of my shots over on my project blog Hello Holga if you care to check them out.

I've just loaded up my new Superheadz with a roll of expired film so I'm excited to see the results. Not only is it my first time using the Superheadz, but also my first time using an expired film, so it should be quite interesting. I'm hoping to be able to share the results with you guys soon! x

Tsumori Notebooks

Sunday, March 20, 2011

One of my favourite Korean brands (who I have posted about here, here and here in the past) has just released a little notebook collection. Not only does the notebook look sweet but I thought the photography and art direction of the shoot was amazing too. To see more images and their clothing collection as well, head to their official site

Guest post: From the husband

Thursday, March 17, 2011

Hi guys, I'm Amanda's husband and I have been asking to do a guest post on here for a long time and I have finally been given a shot to prove myself to Amanda!

One of our good friends Emma from But Honestly who I actually used to live with, creates these amazing pieces of art and I am proud to say the one with the bird is actually inspired by Amanda.

Prints of her art work will be available soon and if you're interested to purchase one you can contact her through her blog. This is the first time she has released her artwork to the public and I would love it if you could encourage her to keep it up!

Thanks for having me here and I hope Amanda will let me back soon!
