I heart Autumn

Firstly, let me say it is driving me crazy that I don't own a half decent camera, and have to torment you guys with these hideous pictures. But I'm working on it and hopefully by mid-year I'll have a nice, new camera but in the meantime thanks for putting up with this less than average quality!

Anyway the point of this post is my excitement for winter. I just bought my first pair of black jeans (I've mostly been a dress girl but I'm going to give jeans a go this winter) and I am enjoying layering up in snuggly knits and warm layers. Mmm I love this time of year.

Autumn Inspiration: Cat rabbit

Who knew you could find fashion inspiration from a plush toy?! But seriously, these cute little things are wearing so many items I'd happily recreate in my own size- knee socks, bows, coats, knit layers, ahhh I love Autumn! The air is finally getting a bit frosty here and I am enjoying rugging up in extra layers and warming myself up with pumpkin soup in the evenings.

A weekend away

We have just arrived home from a wonderful Easter weekend away at the beach with good friends. We went on bike rides, had a night time beach swim, slept in, read the newspaper and played Sudoku, drank wine, ate good food, went on analogue adventures, drove to pretty secluded beaches, read books and magazines and just relaxed. It was the perfect weekend away and we've come home feeling so refreshed. Hope you've all enjoyed your Easter break too x

I was going to take a few digital pictures of some of my recent goodies this morning but my digital camera decided to have flat batteries (story of my life) so the Instax saved the day! Anyway I love all of the latest additions to my wardrobe but especially that button up shirt, I've been thrashing it already and now I want to buy it in every colour (it comes in Moss, Pumpkin and Vintage Peach as well). 

Also I haven't decided yet but this might be my last post for a couple of days. The husband and I are heading to a little house at the beach with Dane from Tornadoes and Tigers and his wife and child for a long weekend getaway. In case I don't drop back here again I hope you all have a wonderful Easter and enjoy spending it with friends and family :)

Ceramic Jewellery

Yumi Ando is a Japanese artist living in Australia and she hand crafts these incredible ceramic jewellery items including brooches, necklaces and earrings. I'm swooning over the Ampersand brooches and the key necklaces but also thought the bunny and egg necklaces were perfect just in time for Easter.

A Walk in the Park

Hi guys. I'm Amanda's husband and it seems I did a good job with my first post on here so Amanda has let me do another one :)

Last week Amanda and I took a road trip to meet our friend's first child in Auckland. While up there we went to One Tree Hill to play with our cameras. Here are some of the shots from my Fuji Instax Wide Format 210.

Rainy Monday

I have the day to myself at home today and I couldn't be happier. I'll be enjoying a lazy morning in bed with the cats, reading my book and watching Gossip Girl. (Don't laugh, I asked on twitter if it was worth me giving it a go and the general consensus was it's a nice guilty pleasure- turns out this is true) and then later scanning in some recent Instax snaps and heading to the camera shop to see what they can do about my broken film.

One Tree Hill

Just a few pictures the husband took yesterday while we visited one of our favourite spots in Auckland- One Tree Hill. While most like to take the drive (or steep walk) to the top to enjoy the view of the city, our favourite thing is to explore the parts all around the bottom- the trees and grassy fields and stone walls are so pretty and the perfect place for a picnic or a sunny afternoon. 

On another note, while we were at One Tree Hill and taking a few pictures we snapped a film in one of our 35mm cameras, mid shot. Has anyone had this happen before? Will they still be able to process the images I took before the film broke? I'm so sad it happened.
