Let the fun begin!

Top c/o Romwe, Baggu backpack, Glassons skirt/ shoes, pictures by David Grr.

Just a few pictures my friend David snapped of me on the weekend. I was so happy that my baggu backpack arrived in time for fashion week! Speaking of which, my fashion week adventures begin today and I'm off to Ruby this morning and Lonely Hearts this afternoon. Pictures to come!

Rodarte for Opening Ceremony FW11

Rodarte for Opening Ceremony FW11 lookbook found via Miss Annie

Such a beautiful lookbook, I love that they used twins for it.

I apologise in advance if every single post on my blog this week is fashion related in one way or another. It's New Zealand Fashion Week so I have a bit of a one track mind and am excited to snap pictures at shows, on the street and with friends. I hope you guys will enjoy it :)

Inside my World

Clockwise: Me, Jeremy, Ilana, Dane

A few snapshots of what is a very typical night in my life: getting together with friends for a braai (like a barbecue, but over a fire), wine, good food, good company and a toasty warm fire. This is my life almost every weekend and I absolutely love it. Here's to those friends you call family!

52 Weeks of Australia

I recently stumbled upon 52 Weeks of Australia and although it's not a new tumblr I just had to share it here. It's full of inspiring photography, type and adventuring around Australia, brought to you by a fellow kiwi who is living across the ditch. These pictures bring back so many memories of being in Sydney last year and also have me really excited for my next trip to Aussie - one week on the Gold Coast with Liss later this year. Can't wait!

Oh and P.S New Zealand (where I live) is a separate country to Australia.... just putting it out there :) It's amazing how many comments I get on here from people who think I live in Australia. It's a great place but NZ is my home!

Ruby Boutique in Hamilton

(I'm wearing the Kings of Carnaby Falls Dress)

This week one of my favourite New Zealand brands launched a shop in my little old city! Ruby Boutique is now on Casabella Lane and on Monday night a few friends, my husband and I attended the launch. We sipped on Rosemount Ruby sparkling wine, ate yummy nibbles, swooned over the amazing clothes (the shirt I'm holding up is my pick of the bunch- LOVE it) and had fun chatting with the lovely Ruby girls. I'm also happy to say next week I'll be attending the Ruby show at New Zealand Fashion Week, cannot wait!

Splashes of Colour

3. OPI Mermaids Tears
4. Baggu

I can't get enough of these colours at the moment. In fact, that backpack as already been ordered and is en route to me right now! The weather here has been getting better and better lately and the more sunshine we see, the more I fall in love with all things canary yellow and seafoam green. Cannot wait for this summer and a wardrobe full of bright colours!

The Yellow Brick Road

After meeting the lovely girls from Auckland boutique The Yellow Brick Road at the gift fair earlier this year and falling in love with every single item at their stall I knew I would have to pay a visit to their shop to check out the rest of their goodies. On the weekend the husband and I spent some time in Auckland to catch up with family and swung by YBR for a visit as well.

It's safe to say the shop is every bit as delightful as I imagined! And what makes it even more perfect is that it is literally situated down a little yellow brick road (well, lane). How perfect is that! You can shop online if you're looking to get some of their goodies for yourself and they're also bringing out a brand new magazine later in the year called Fawn, so keep your eyes peeled for that too :)

I ♥ Miso

(Mink Pink dress & belt c/o Market HQ)

We spent some of our weekend in Auckland and enjoyed sushi and miso dates, afternoon wanderings around the museum, visiting friends (blog post to come soon), using the LC-A+ and spending time with our family. And thankfully, the weather was amazing so it was great to enjoy some time outdoors soaking in the sunshine.

As a side note, I'm sending a little shout out and some love to couple bloggers Louder than Silence. They write a great blog which I always enjoy visiting and have received a little flack lately which is so uncalled for. My opinion: if you don't like a blog - don't read it. It's pretty simple :) There's no need to bring each other down!

Black & White

(pictures by Natalea)

Usually I'm not so drawn to black and white photography but I've fallen for these pictures and now I want to try a black and white roll in my LC-A+ sometime soon. This weekend I've loaded it up with some standard colour film and am excited to get snapping, so maybe after this roll I'll experiment with black and white for the first time!

Hope you all have a great weekend! I'll have pictures of my recent adventures and a little bit of news to share with you all next week xx

Too much Excitement

(Shirt c/o Romwe, sunglasses from Ebay, vintage shoes)

I've had bad luck with the camera lately and after we took these pictures the other day we got home to discover almost all of them were out of focus :( So sad. So consider this a sneak peek! This weekend we're borrowing a much nicer camera to join us on our Auckland adventures so I'm hoping to avoid any more mishaps.

In other news, yesterday was an amazing day full of exciting emails and good things happening. One thing - which I'll share more about soon - is that I've scored a day off work for New Zealand Fashion Week and I'll be heading up to attend two shows from two of my favourite local designers. Cannot. Wait. But more on that soon :)

There are some pictures I take that never quite make it to the blog. But then I think, why not? So here it is friends, just a small glimpse at what I get up to on your typical Sunday afternoon :P

Lovely Things

1. Depeapa canvas tote
2. Devon Smith prints
3. Rebecca Miller print
4. Moroccan oil

Just a few recent lovely things I've been gifted or treated myself to. Before you ask, no I don't have instagram (I wish), these were taken on a friends phone. Halfway through the week here which means only a couple of sleeps until we're off to Auckland to visit the family and stop by the Yellow Brick Road to take some pictures for a blog feature!
