I Like Wolves

(I Like Wolves dress c/o Market HQ, Baggu backpack, Karen Walker necklace, vintage belt, Glassons shoes)

I know I've said it already this week, but I LOVE daylight savings! It's so nice to have time in the evening after work to run around in the sun. I received this adorable dress from Market HQ this week and jumped at the chance to snap a few pictures of it in the late afternoon sun yesterday. You'll have to excuse my pasty white skin, it hasn't seen much sunshine recently, but hopefully that's about to change! Anyway how cute is the pattern and the cut out back detailing? I think this dress will be getting a lot of wear this summer.

Oh sunshine

(pictures by NZ photographer Sara Orme. Check out her website & blog)

Daylight savings has officially begun in New Zealand and despite feeling like my alarm went off in the middle of the night yesterday (6.30 am might still feel like 5.30 am for a few days) I couldn't be happier. More sunshine hours in the evening means more time to get things done after work - walks around the lake, picnic dinners with the husband and more chances to start playing with our Canon 400d that the beautiful Liss from Daydream Lily sent us. It's a happy time friends! And the perfect weather for the return of floaty spring maxi dresses. Hopefully I'll have new pictures to share with you soon :)

Just a few snippets from my weekend. I have to say I think I had the perfect Sunday- a few friends and I met up for brunch at our favourite cafe, then we went for a wander around and did some [window] shopping, then stopped for coffee and macarons. It's so nice when you have a day where nothing in particular is planned and you can just take your time doing whatever you feel like! Hope you all had a lovely weekend too :)

Down at the Lake

(button up shirt c/o Ruche)

My favourite time of day to take pictures is while the sun is setting. The lighting becomes so soft and warm and pretty, not to mention it's just nice to watch the sun go down. Last night we snapped a few pictures on our way out to dinner (Japanese, yum!) and it was nice to have a bit of a wander around the lake in the warm Spring air. Only a couple more weeks and I'll be able to fully transition into a summer wardrobe, that makes me happy!

Make Voyages

(Images by Julian Bialowas)

Just a little inspiration for your Thursday :) My life has been such a hustle and bustle the last few weeks and I feel like I've hardly had a moment to breathe, but there's something so nice about images and quotes like these that make me stop and take a second to appreciate. Here's to those little moments that give you a boost of energy and inspiration right when you need it!

Kings of Carnaby Spring/ Summer 2012

My friends at Kings of Carnaby have released their Spring/ Summer 2012 lookbook and I have to say I'm a big fan! I can see myself wearing every single one of these items but in particular the blush pink button up dress and the yellow dress with the beaded peterpan collar. So pretty! And I did I mention there's an equally amazing mens collection as well? You can shop all of these items at their website

Ahh I'm getting so excited for summer!

Stolen from Grandma

The lovely Claire McManus from Stolen from Grandma has just opened her online store selling new and vintage clothing, which you can check out here. I'm in love with these campaign images released to coincide with the launch of the store. Claire has also been working as a stylist (see some of her work here) and quite obviously has a great talent for it! Way to go Claire, all the best for your exciting ventures :)

Style Stalker: Elizabeth Olsen

(all pictures from The Fashion Spot)
Confession: I have a bit of a girl crush on Elizabeth Olsen (younger sis to Mary Kate and Ashley) at the moment. Every picture or interview I see of her shows someone who comes across so happy, down to earth and level headed. Not to mention that she's got great style and from what little snippets I've seen - pretty impressive acting chops too. If you haven't checked it out already, the trailer for her new film Martha Marcy May Marlene is HERE. Cannot wait to see it!

The Perfect T-Shirt

There's nothing like a comfy, slouchy tee that you can slip on with jeans or a skirt for a casual day. To be perfectly honest I've been raiding my husbands wardrobe for his t-shirts for the last few years so this is actually the first tee of my own that I've had in a long time! I think my husband is quite pleased that I won't be wearing his clothes as much now haha.

Happy weekend xx

Little Darling

I've been meaning to share this for awhile! For my birthday this year Emma from But Honestly illustrated this amazing piece for me of the song that gave my blog its name. So special! "Here Comes the Sun" was also mine and my husbands wedding song so this piece of art is quite special and sentimental to me. Thanks Emma!

Pastel Dreams

(credits: 1, 3 & 4 : Luis Monteiro, 2: Pandora, 5: Kristin B)

When I was a kid I had a closet full of scrapbooks that I would fill with things that inspired me and made me happy (generally pictures of cats!). I like to think of my blog as the scrapbook for my adult years and it's fun to be able to share with you guys the beautiful images I stumble upon, I hope they inspire you too x
