Gold Coast Part II: The Sunshine State

Monday, October 31, 2011

1. Enjoying the view down at Broadwaters 2. Breathtaking views from the Q1 tower 3. Relaxing at Commune cafe 4. Yummy breakfasts and afternoon cocktails just cause we can

Here's a few more snaps from the last few days of this trip. The funny thing about getting together two bloggers who love photography is that every little moment of this holiday has been documented- whether by digital, film, instant or on our iphones. I have to say my husband has been very patient with our constant snapping away! Tomorrow we're off to Dreamworld, cannot wait!

Gold Coast Part I: Instant Snaps

Sunday, October 30, 2011

Jeremy and I are already two days through our Gold Coast holiday. Let's hope time slows down a little bit so this week doesn't feel like it's ending too quickly! On Friday our trip kicked off with a Japanese dinner and wander around Surfers Paradise with Liss from Daydream Lily (who we're staying with), Kelly from Birdy and Me and Ally from Unknown Pleasures.

Saturday we headed out to Coolangatta for lunch overlooking the beach and then a chance to get some sand between our toes. It's so nice to have the free time to do whatever we feel like and there's something about being in the fresh coastal air that is so relaxing. Hope you like the instant snaps we've taken so far! If you're interested these are from my Instax 210 Wide Format :)

Tuesday, October 25, 2011

I know I've mentioned it a lot already but I'm seriously counting down until our holiday on the Gold Coast! Only four more sleeps and we'll be enjoying ourselves on sunny beaches, so excited. Packing has not yet begun but lists have been made and if I get the time I'm hoping to share a packing post with you guys! I've never done it before but it could be fun to share a little peek inside my suitcase so we will see :)

Currently swooning over this dreamy summer lookbook from Dagg & Stacey. If you can't tell already from my recent posts - I'm really excited for summer! I'm currently bookmarking images like these to get some ideas for future blog posts I want to create in my summer months so keep your eyes peeled :)

P.S Just a little shout out to the All Blacks - any kiwi readers or rugby fans will know why today is a very happy day for New Zealand. Congrats boys!

An Ode to the Bow Tie

Saturday, October 22, 2011

(onetwothreefour)

Just a little shout out to the bow tie and the dapper man. There's something so charming about a neatly tied piece of cloth tucked under the collar of a buttoned up shirt. If you're looking to treat the man in your life to one of these you could visit Hunter GathererFoxes or Mister Dandy to get in on the action. Jeremy has a plain black one he has worn occasionally but I feel like it might be time to get him a checkered one or something striped. Am I too early to be thinking about Christmas presents already?!

Anyway have a good weekend everyone! It's a long weekend here in New Zealand which means an extra day to sleep in so I couldn't be happier xx

Counting Down

Friday, October 21, 2011

Since we got married Jeremy and I have tried to take one overseas trip a year to get away, relax, explore and recharge. This year that trip is taking us across the ditch to visit Liss on the Gold Coast. There's only one week until our adventure begins and I seriously cannot stop thinking about it! Aside from the normal holiday pleasures like sleeping in, reading and going out for as many meals as possible, here are some of the things I'm looking forward to:

♥ Going to the night markets at Surfers Paradise
♥ Going up the Q1 (one of the tallest buildings in the southern hemisphere)
♥ Scaring myself on the rides at Dreamworld
♥ Day trip to Brisbane for exploring and shopping
♥ Meeting other bloggers & catching up with friends
♥ And of course soaking up the sun on the beautiful beaches

If you think I'm missing anything important let me know! We've never been to the Goldie before and are quite excited for it!

Beach Wear

Thursday, October 20, 2011

In my little corner of the world the warmer months are approaching. As they're creeping closer I've been on the look out for the perfect swimwear for my summer but I'm a little stuck. The big question is- one piece, or mis matched two piece? I can't decide! Here are some I've been looking at:
(We Are Handsome via Market HQ)
(selection from Asos)

Ahh I can't decide, though I do really love the one piece with the horse on it. We're heading to the Gold Coast at the end of next week so hopefully that will be my chance to snap up some new swimwear, if I can decide what I want by then!

Oh Colour

Wednesday, October 19, 2011

There's nothing like a favourite cardie, the more oversized and slouchy the better in my opinion! I love one that I can chuck on over everything and instantly feel snug and relaxed. This one from Romwe is actually supposed to be a jersey worn in reverse with the buttons done up at the back (which looks great with jeans) but I've been loving wearing it unbuttoned over my dresses too. It's quite nice that it's versatile!

As a side note, I just had a quick scroll through some of my outfit posts over the last wee while and was amazed by how much colour I have in my wardrobe now! Does anyone else feel the same? I'm sure it was only two or so years ago when everything I wore was black with the occasional splash of white or another neutral shade. Times have changed, I can barely count my black items in my wardrobe on one hand now!

Casper & Pearl

Tuesday, October 18, 2011

Casper and Pearl is a handmade Australian clothing label that oozes whimsy and playfulness. Each item is made from vintage or vintage inspired fabrics and Stacey - the main designer - is only 19 years old! Pretty amazing. I like what I see so far and I think this label could be one to watch. There seems to be so much young emerging talent coming out of Australia and New Zealand at the moment and it makes me so happy!

On the Tracks

Monday, October 17, 2011

I've been so excited for the arrival of this bag and since it got here last week I've used it everyday. It's coming into summer here in New Zealand and a bright canary yellow bag was on my wishlist of things to get for the warmer months. After Bonnie from Flashes of Style blogged her red satchel bag from VJ Style I followed the link and couldn't believe how cheap it was ($53.99!) and immediately snapped this one up for myself. Definitely my most satisfying purchase in awhile!
