Only a few days and I'll be 25 years old.. To be honest those two numbers feel a little weird to me. Twenty Five. It feels odd, like I should have achieved more with my life by now or that I should be dressing differently, talking differently, acting more grown up? But then I think of everything I've already achieved and how happy I am - I'm happily married, educated, have great friends and am about to start a new adventure in a new city. Life is actually pretty great so I think I really just need to get over the idea of how 25 should feel and just keep on enjoying life.
My actual birthday is on Tuesday but because I'll be at work all day the celebrations began today. And what better way to celebrate than with icecreams and the husband taking me shopping for the brand new iPad! I could not be more happy and excited to start playing with it. If you have any iPad app recommendations please share them with me in the comments :)

In a few days I will be 30 and I have the same feelings. 'Oh I will be 'old', will things change?' It feels weird, but in the end you will stay your same self, so nothing really changes, just your age :) So happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday for Tuesday (: x

ReplyDeleteI am 27 now and I don't think I had a birthday in the last 7 years where I didn't feel like I am turning older than I should. It just sounds so adult and I don't feel like my life is very adult yet...
So enjoy being "only" 25 while you can!

ReplyDelete(My 25th is coming up at the end of the year, and I'm kind of having similar thoughts too... "ahh, what am I doing with my life?" Haha. I suppose it's only natural! So you're not alone. :)
You should get an app called apps gone free. It collects a list of iphone/ipad apps that our free for a limited period of time and they put out a new issue everyday. You can get a lot of high quality (and sometimes quite expensive apps for free).

ReplyDeleteHappy belated birthday! I'm turning 24 on Sunday and it's freaking me out a little bit too... it's funny how we all wonder if we've done enough with our lives and then we look back and realise that our priorities have changed since we were, say, teenagers. Things like living in London for five years or working for a high profile magazine in New York or living in a flash apartment and worrying about finding "Mr Right" and getting away from your parents are less important now and are replaced by things like having family around you, falling in love, enjoying the little things in life like cooking, snuggling up by the fire with a loved one, reading some good books... When people ask me, "do you feel [insert age here]?" each birthday I'm just like, "What is [age] supposed to feel like? Who decides that?"
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great birthday. xox
