Pastel blue and a bright yellow satchel, summer must be on its way! (By the way, sometimes I do get odd comments when I make remarks like that - if you're a new reader, I'm from New Zealand and it's currently Spring here).
Anyway, it feels nice to be wearing something vintage again, it's been awhile. This dress was altered for me by the lovely La-Nee of Wild Hearts Vintage and I'm excited to say I'll also be hosting a giveaway for her store soon too. So keep your eyes peeled for that!

ReplyDeleteThat dress is really cute - however, whoever shortened it did an abysmal job sewing the new hem. When you shorten a dress with a very flared skirt, the bit you are turning to the inside will always be bigger than the place where you are sewing, so you need to either take a smaller hem allowance so the puckering is less noticeable, or sew a binding on and then turn it up just enough so the binding isn't showing. And then press it with lots of steam in the opposite direction to it was sewn so that the puckers are reversed as much as they can be!!!
