It's a long weekend here in New Zealand (and so is next weekend, how lucky are we!) and I've been enjoying having no big plans but just relaxing with some down time. A walk around the lake, cups of tea (the Healtheries strawberry & green tea is a must try if you haven't had it already), dvds in bed with the cats, rearranging bits and pieces around the house and a good chance to read and nap. So nice to have a quiet weekend for a change ♥

Horse print shirt c/o Romwe
Plaited belt c/o Wild Pair
Wallet c/o Status Anxiey
vintage shoes, Supre skirt
As promised we've finally gotten around to taking some new pictures for the blog :) This horse print shirt arrived earlier in the week and I think I've tried it on at least once every day since. I have a bit of a love affair with animal printed clothing and this might just be my new favourite item in my wardrobe. The setting for these pictures is the Italian themed garden at our local community gardens. So pretty and great for a few quick snaps while the sun is setting!

(cute polaroids from the latest Geronimo collection)
Happy weekend lovelies. It's a long one here so I don't have to go back to work until Tuesday, yay :) Maybe with the extra day off I'll be able to get on top of taking some pictures for this blog, I know I'm more than a little behind! I don't have much else planned other than the hope of reading as much as possible and a coffee date or two. Sometimes a quiet weekend is the best thing. The husband and I have also started Modern Family from the very beginning so no doubt there'll be plenty of episodes of that squeezed in too!
Happy weekend xx

Ali Mitton is a talented Queensland based photographer. I first heard about her when she shot the Element Eden campaign for my good friend Liss from Daydream Lily's collaboration. I was reminded of her again recently when Liss blogged these stunning shots and I headed straight to her official website to check out some more. The above images are part of a beautiful campaign she shot for Tom Gunn shoes, swoon!

As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, Jeremy and I took part in a pretty fun photo shoot this summer. Last night these few shots popped up in my inbox and I knew I just had to share them here as a little teaser of what's to come :) Hope you like them! The photographers are A Couple of Night Owls and I'll have more pictures and info to share with you in the coming weeks.

Hope you're all having a lovely weekend! Mine so far has been full of birthday parties, movie dates, picnics with friends, beach swims, ice cream, fresh fruit and a glass or two of sparkling wine. Sorry that my posting so far in 2012 has been a little sporadic but it's summer time here and sometimes it's nice to get away from the computer and get out and enjoy life. That and reading and running have become the two main things I look forward to when I get home from work each day. I'm sure as the months get colder the amount of posts I share will increase but for now I'm enjoying my summer!

How I Met Your Style is an inspiring collaboration between photographers Carmen Chan and Kenneth Wu. The website features portaits and snippets into the wardrobes and homes of the people behind the blogs and brands we love. I could easily spend an hour or two getting stuck into the archives and bookmarking images for inspiration. Make sure you check it out, you're bound to spot a few familiar faces in there :)

Just a few images to hopefully inspire you and deter from any mid- week lethargy. Each of these quotes are quite personal to me at the moment. I don't know why but I have this feeling surrounding 2012 that this is the year of making decisions, taking risks and achieving goals.

It's amazing all the little memories and snippets of life you carry around with you on your phone. I was having a flick through mine and Jeremy's iphones the other day and thought I'd share a few of my favourite summer memories with you guys. It's been a season full of runs around the lake, day trips to Raglan, ice cream, pretty night skies, hydrangea lined streets, day time wanderings, kitten snuggles and peaceful mornings. I love this time of year.

We finally got a chance for a little sunshine this weekend and immediately headed out to our closest beach (Raglan for any kiwi's reading this) and spent the day soaking up the sun, swimming, enjoying ice cream and relaxing in our favourite beach cafe. So good to enjoy some down time together and get away from our normal routine. Hope you all had/ are having a lovely weekend too x

(Jeremy and I shot by Carissa Gallo)
Cross your fingers for me friends! I actually woke up to blue skies this morning (which has been a sad rarity this summer) and I'm hoping it will last long enough for a trip to the beach today. Jeremy and I need a good dose of vitamin d and some time away from the city with our toes in the sand. Raglan is one of my favourite beaches in New Zealand and I'm really hoping for a chance to snap some pictures to share with you guys just how beautiful it is.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend, whatever you're getting up to :)
P.S there's still a few days left to enter my Holga camera giveaway, so don't miss out!

Also I wanted to let you guys know my dear hubby has succumbed to the world of instagram. A lot of his pictures will probably end up being behind the scenes of my blog posts (since he's the one who takes all the pictures) so if you want to follow him for sneak peeks search for "jemyboy7" :)

This is what happens when you spend your summer holiday watching foreign films because it's too rainy to go outside.
I go back to work tomorrow and as lame as it is of me to admit, I'm kinda excited :) I like my routine and it'll be good to start back nice and fresh. Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend!
P.S What's your favourite French film? Let me know, I need some new recommendations :)

Jeremy and I spent the last two days at the beach taking part in an exciting project. It's too early for me to share what it was just yet but I thought I'd give you this little sneak peek :) We had a great time working with amazingly talented people and I'm so excited to see the results! Not only that but I finally got a good dose of sunshine so I'm feeling much more positive about my summer holiday now too :)

The last few days of my so called "summer holiday" have been a little miserable to be honest. Rainy days cooped up inside when I'd rather be out at the beach in the sun. Today we decided to get over our misery and grab the camera and go for a drive. It started pouring down so heavy that we only managed to get these few snaps while under shelter before racing back to the car. And would you believe it, on the drive home the clouds parted and bright sunshine came out!!
Fortunately we're actually off to the beach tonight so hopefully we'll get to have an evening swim. Tomorrow we're taking part in a fun little project that I'm quite excited to share with you guys. This is the first time I've done something for the blog that Jeremy has gotten to be a part of too, will share the results with you soon :)
