On the weekend Krystal from Kopie Photography and I met up for another shoot. This time Lauren from Lauren West Makeup came along too and gave me this smokey eye look. I have to admit this is quite different for me as I'm pretty stuck on my daily routine of nude eyeshadow and a winged liquid line so it was fun to try something different! As for the outfit, I've been thrashing this t-shirt/ necklace combo a lot lately and I love it. Would have been a cute look for summer with some high waisted denim shorts on the bottom, but sadly tomorrow is the first day of Autumn and there's a noticeable chill in the air, so it might be awhile before I can try that look out!

Life According to Instagram

Read Between the Lines

Over the last couple of weeks I've found myself lost in the pages of a few good books - The Hunger Games series, Never Let Me Go and most recently One Day. All of which I would definitely recommend. I also have a few books on their way to me in the post (most excited for the arrival of The Beautiful and The Damned) but in the meantime I've found myself with nothing to read. (Disaster!)

I'm planning a weekend trip to the library to remedy the situation but first off I'd love your suggestions of what I should be looking for once I get there. What have you read lately that you'd recommend? Let me know :)

I have a soft spot for the perfect combo of nice type and an inspirational quote so thought I'd share a few of my recent faves I've seen floating around the internet. I think I need to print a few of these off a put them on my fridge as daily reminders.

Deja Entendu

I've had a bit of an accidental blog hiatus this week haven't I? Sometimes there just aren't enough hours in the day to fit in everything I want to do. I found a bunch of film photographs I still haven't scanned in so these two are just a taster and hopefully I'll get on top of scanning the rest soon.

As a side note, I've been re-listening to Brand New- Deja Entendu and realising that for me it's probably been one of the most significant albums in my life. What's yours? I'd love to know.

How was your weekend?

This weekend I: slept in, went for a few runs, cooked with friends, drank wine on a deck in the sun, had midnight airport adventures, started watching Downton Abbey with the husband (LOVE it already), caught up on some reading and enjoyed a little down time. Pretty much a perfect weekend. Hope yours is swell x

Wild Thing

Love Me Do

This year Jeremy and I made an effort to celebrate Valentines for the first time ever. No gifts were exchanged but we took the time out for a few of our favourite things- TV on DVD, bubbles, waffles with cream and berries, red velvet whoopie pies and the reminiscing of some of our favourite memories together. I had planned to document a bit more of the night but it actually felt nicer to put the camera away and forget about being a blogger for a moment and just enjoy a special night with my love. Hope you all had a lovely Valentines too x

It feels like it's been awhile since I've shared the work of fellow kiwi's on here so as soon as I saw this shoot pop up in my facebook feed today I knew it had to be blogged. Miriam, the creative lady behind Sunday is taking a break from the brand for awhile to pursue other ventures but thought it a waste not to photograph these Winter 2012 samples. So even though these clothes aren't for sale I thought I'd share the pictures just because they're beautiful and because I always love the photography work of my friends Benjamin and Elise.

A Day at the Beach

After a few days of being sick and cooped up in bed, Jeremy and I finally managed to get out of the house on the weekend and headed over to Mount Maunganui (a beach about 1.5 hours from where we live) for a day of walking, swimming, reading, ice cream and relaxing. 

It was so good to get out of the house, get some sunshine on my skin and enjoy the beautiful scenery at one of my favourite beaches. It's kinda starting to feel like summer is winding down here so any last moments with bare legs and arms are ones that I'm treasuring!

Love Hearts

In the 5+ years that Jeremy and I have been together we've never celebrated Valentines day but this year we decided we would. We're not exchanging gifts or spending a whole lot of money, we're just gonna snuggle up on the couch, have waffles with cream and berries for dinner, watch a movie and enjoy a glass or two of bubbles. Over on Eat Drink Chic there are a whole lot of printable downloads for making your Valentines a little cuter which I've been taking full advantage of and tomorrow night Ilana and I are going to bake red velvet whoopie pies as well. I think I'm going to enjoy celebrating Valentines ♥

On the long weekend I met up with Krystal from Kopie photography to take a few snaps at the Hamilton lake. I couldn't have wished for a better location for these pictures with all the pretty flowers that are in season at the moment. Also can I mention how happy I am to own my first ever Nadinoo item and to finally have a Fieldguided tote to call my own! So happy! What a day!

Yesterday I teamed up with a local photgrapher to take part in a fun shoot. I got to dance around in a pretty field, get my face painted and run through fields of trees. Pretty excited to see the results!

Then I returned home to discover one of my cats (Ziggy) could only open one of his eyes. I'd only been out of the house for just over 2 hours but somehow in that time he managed to scratch the inside of his lower lid and cause himself a lot of discomfort. We had to take him to the emergency vet (it was a public holiday here) so it ended up being an extremely expensive and traumatic end to the day (he did not enjoy the experience AT ALL). He's on the mend now but the poor little guy is still feeling a bit sorry for himself.
