One of the things I love most about living in New Zealand is the excitement of this time of year. It's a beautiful marriage of the holiday season and the start of our summer. I get so excited when December hits and not only is the weather getting warmer but I also get to enjoy Christmas festivities and all my little traditions as well. I have so much coming up this month so I thought I would write a list of some of the things I'm looking forward to, here we go:
♥ Putting up our Christmas tree and decorating the house (happening today!)
♥ Visiting a pretty decorated neighbourhood at night (I'll be going to Franklin rd, Ponsonby)
♥ Reaching my 'run 200km's before the end of the year' goal (35kms to go, I can do this)
♥ Having my first beach swim of the season
♥ Making lists and shopping for loved ones
♥ Sharing my 'best of 2012' posts
♥ Sharing some holiday gift guides (P.S see my ones from previous years here)
♥ Going to the outdoor cinema at Silo Park to watch Home Alone
♥ Baking a gingerbread house
♥ Trying out some new summer cocktail recipes
Ahh I love this time of year! What do you like about December? Do you have any traditions you take part in?

Here's my second look from my visit to the Ruby studio earlier this week (if you missed look one you can view it here). I haven't been able to stop thinking about these amazing shorts ever since - so much that I've managed to convince myself I need them in my life. They'd be perfect for autumn styled like this or maybe with a navy blue sweater on top.
Anyway I just wanted to drop in and share this set! I might save the third look for sometime next week. Today is my fourth wedding anniversary which is exciting. These years are going by so quickly! We're just having a quiet night at home tonight and have plans for a high tea date on the weekend to celebrate :)

This week I paid a visit to the Ruby studio to view their AW13 collection and have a bit of a play with the clothes. We pulled three looks and had fun running around town shooting them at different locations. This outfit was the first and I'll share the rest over the next couple of days. I've had a bit of a long-standing love affair with Ruby so it was fun to mix and match their different pieces and get a sneak peek into what will be selling soon. If you want to shop their current collection they also have an online store that ships internationally, which you can check out here.
P.S Just an off topic side note, but it's my fourth wedding anniversary tomorrow, how exciting is that?!

One glass ginger ale | Half shot honey vodka | One lime slice | Lots of ice
With summer just around the corner I've been in the mood to try out some different home made cocktails. There's nothing quite like relaxing on your deck in the sun and sipping on a yummy drink! We had honey vodka in the house so I kinda just made this up, but it ended up tasting pretty good. I don't know if it's the best drink I've ever made but it's definitely worth the try if you happen to have honey vodka.
Anyway, hopefully it's a long, hot summer and I'll have plenty of time for creating yum cocktail recipes to share with you guys :)

Floral shirt c/o Romwe | Watch c/o Daniel Wellington | Studded belt c/o Market HQ | Supre Skirt | Glassons boots
These pictures are the only evidence that I actually got dressed in proper clothing this weekend. As I previously mentioned I've been in need of a quiet weekend at home, so for the most part I've been lazing around in pajamas or trackpants. But we had a lunch date at a friends house today which required a little more effort so I thought we may as well grab a few snaps along the way.
I'm so behind on things I need to photograph + share but that's what happens when you're trying to maintain a full time job, training for a half marathon, a social life, an overflowing inbox and a blog. I promise I'll catch up asap :) Anyway, hope you're all having a great weekend! I haven't done much other than watch Star Wars, nap and relax - it's been great! x

It's been a long time since I've had a quiet weekend with hardly any plans so this weekend is quite exciting for me. Other than a lunch date on Sunday and a few errands to get on top of I have nothing planned and nowhere I need to be. I'm in desperate need of a lazy weekend to relax, nap and watch dvds so I couldn't be more happy about it. Last night a friend and I kicked off the weekend with a quiet night at home baking up a storm. We made strawberry & lime cupcakes and peanut butter & chocolate cupcakes. So good! And such a nice way to begin the weekend :)

This week I reached my first milestone on instagram, by reaching 10,000 followers! It's my favourite social media platform (I might just be a little addicted!) so I couldn't be more stoked. I just wanted to say thanks to everyone that's already following and if you aren't you can join me here. I must admit my feed is pretty full of foodstagrams & catstagrams but I try make every picture as creative as possible :) If you don't have a smart phone I usually upload my pictures to my Facebook page once a month or so.
Anyway, hope you're all having a great! Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends in the USA xo

Watching.... Downton Abbey, Homeland, New Girl, Modern Family and I'm ashamed to admit but.... the final season of Gossip Girl (I need to know how things pan out!).
Eating... Mostly pretty healthy! It's coming into summer here so lots of fresh fruit, summer salads, home made smoothies annnnnd the occasional guilty pleasure dumpling fest.
Working on... A few fun blog projects (announcing one soon!), training towards my first half marathon and improving my baking.
Looking forward to... December and all the festivities that come with it - Christmas shopping, putting up and decorating the tree, baking with friends, visiting pretty light displays and drinking gingerbread lattes.
If you want to play along just leave your link in the comments! You can make the categories whatever you like, it's just about sharing a snippet of what you've been up to :)

This weekend we went along to Taste of Auckland, an amazing outdoor food festival. We had such a good time sampling treats, drinking cocktails and relaxing in the sun. It was the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon, just wandering around and taking in all the sights and smells. We are seriously loving living in Auckland and all the fun things that are always happening in this city! The Silo Park night markets and outdoor theatre sessions also start back this Friday night which makes it feel like summer is really here. I love this time of year!

I don't think I've ever mentioned it here before, but I've been writing for New Zealand website NZ Girl for the last few months as well as blogging here. Some of my articles are similar (or reposts) from here, and some are entirely unique. You can follow my feed here and if you like what I share I would love it if you could like and/or comment on my posts to help give my content a boost.
Anyway, through NZ Girl I was chosen to take part in a pretty fun blogger campaign this weekend and the above pictures are just a taster of what I got up to today. I'll be blogging the rest of the pictures (there are a LOT) and telling you more about it on Wednesday.
Hope you guys are having a great weekend as well! Tomorrow I'm off to Taste of New Zealand, Auckland's food festival. Cannot. Wait.

Kelly Smith is a talented Australian artist and one of the first bloggers I started following back in the day. I enjoyed meeting her on the Gold Coast last year (along with Liss from Daydream Lily and Ally from The Unknown Pleasures) and we made memories eating Japanese + gelato together on a hot summery night. (See my Gold Coast blog posts here and here).
Anyway! Kelly has just had her first book published and she generously sent me a copy to check out. Described as the first sticker book to really reflect contemporary fashion, I couldn't be more impressed with its contents. The pages are full of Kelly's beautiful illustrations with different fashion themed stickers to dress the models with. It's perfectly girly and I just know my nieces are going to love it when I turn up with this for them to play with next week.

Hopefully most of you have noticed by now that I've had a revamp to my blog design! It's been a long time coming and I'm overjoyed with the results. It began with my new header illustration from Tabitha Emma and finished with layout changes and improvements from Christina Galani. Both of these girls are absolutely amazing to work with and I definitely recommend them both if you're looking to make changes to your blog or website design.
♥ Tabitha is a freelance designer and illustrator who offers services in design, graphics, textiles and illustrations. You can view her portfolio here and she also has a beautiful blog. Tabitha illustrated my beautiful header.
♥ Christina specialises in blog designs, logos, branding and website templates and you can view her portfolio here. She also has a beautiful tumblr and an equally beautiful blog. Christina added the ribbon to my navigation bar, customised the layout and background, redesigned my social media icons with a hover effect and designed the 'about me' widget. She also managed to included a little cat in my post footers which couldn't make me more happy!

There's nothing quite like a lazy Sunday at home! Especially when you spend it in your pajamas and your favourite sweater. This weekend we had friends to stay and then woke up on Sunday morning for a cooked breakfast (french toast - so good) and spent the rest of the day reading and relaxing and drinking lots of tea. We also watched Buried with Ryan Reynolds and it was absolutely amazing, I can't stop thinking about it. (Have you seen it? What did you think?)
And lastly, a little treat for you guys! If you like my Daniel Wellington watch, you can get one for yourself with 15% off just by entering amanda at the check out, before November 30th. Enjoy :)
