Happy National Gain Day!

Today in New Zealand it's National Gain Day. You can read more about it over on the Special K website (here) but the general idea is that it's a time to think about what you want to gain in 2013. So I thought I'd take the opportunity to share with you five things that I'm hoping to gain this year! If you write a post on this as well make sure you leave your link in the comments so I can come check it out :)

♥ 1. Self confidence. I guess this is a strange one to admit - being that I'm daily publishing my photographs, thoughts etc on the internet which I guess must take some sort of confidence. But I'm talking about being confident in my skills, believing in myself and having the courage to step into new territory. (More on this soon)

♥ 2. Vision. 2013 is going to be a big year for me. As I've previously mentioned, I'm stepping out on my own to start a business this year. I'll fill you in on the details about it closer to its launch, but one of the biggest things for me is having a focus and a vision. I have so many ideas about what I want to do and projects I want to take on, but I know I can't do it all at once. This year will be all about planning, strategy and baby steps.

♥ 3.  Determination. In light of all the big things I have planned for this year, determination is going to be truly necessary. I know this road will have unexpected turns and bumps and I need to be more determined than ever to work hard and strive for my goals.

♥ 4. More time outdoors. I always say that I love being outside but really, I'm only ever outside for a run, a walk or a barbecue. So many of the things that I do inside could be done outside in the fresh air! So from now on when I'm sitting down with my laptop or a book I'm going to make more conscious effort to enjoy it under a tree, in a hammock or on a picnic blanket.

♥ 5. A better routine. I'm working from home at the moment so routine is so important. I need to find a good routine to balance work life, down time and exercise so that I'm being productive.

What do you want to gain in 2013?

  4. Sounds like a good list to me Amanda! I'm hoping to gain a greater appreciation for the present...rather than always thinking about the past or future :)

  5. Best of luck on you business Amanda! I'm doing the same thing this year, and it takes a lot of guts and confidence in yourself to just bite the bullet and do it, but I reckon once we're there it will all be worth it and we'll wonder what we were so afraid of.

  6. Great idea! I think I'd like to gain some self confidence, as well. And I will most definitely need a routine to keep up when uni starts up again in March! Best of luck with your business venture!
