Contributor | Nail Art Tutorial- Retro Cloud

Hello everyone! I'm Katie from Katie Jessica Creations! I feel so honoured to be a contributor on Here Comes The Sun this year. I'll be sharing some nail art designs. I aim to make what could be complicated designs VERY simple & easy to paint on both hands. Thanks for having me! Right, let's get started.

I call this design RETRO CLOUD:
This design is very simple and completely freehand. All you need is three different polishes, any colours that you fancy. Whenever I paint my nails I always start off with a clear basecoat. This protects your nails from getting stained but also makes it easier when using varnish removal - it comes off a lot quicker & easier.

First apply a base colour. I used Maybelline Forever Strong Pro in 'Cloud Grey'. You may find in most of my posts that I use this brand A LOT! You only ever need one coat and out of all the polishes I've used this tends to stay on perfectly for at least 4 days without chipping (sometimes longer) It's seriously a miracle varnish! I love it and they have so many pretty colours to choose from.
To make the retro cloud shape all you have to do is simply apply your second choice of polish in three coats. I used Rimmel London 60 Seconds in 'Sky High'. Make sure you have polish on the very tip of the brush. This will give a clean curve to create the cloud shape. If you have a really thick brush you can turn it on the side, it will still work just as well.

Then take your third colour and repeat the above process. I used Maybelline Forever Strong Pro in 'Really Rosy'.

Let it dry and then seal with a final coat of clear polish. It's as simple as that and looks super pretty!

Have fun with this design and experiment with different colours! If you have any questions about nail care or want to see a certain type of design leave your comments here and I'll see what I can do for my next post!
