Gisborne Roadie | Part II

While we were in Gisborne over the weekend we also took the chance to enjoy a long drive around exploring different small towns in the area. These pictures are from when we stopped at the Tolaga Bay wharf which is actually the longest in New Zealand at 600 metres! We had perfect weather for it and the water was crystal clear so it was one of those moments that really made me appreciate just how beautiful this country is!

After this we also visited Tokomaru Bay which was where my great grandparents lived and worked many years ago so it was pretty amazing to see a little piece of family history. The rest of our holiday was spent catching up with family, eating good food, drinking good wine (my family in Gisborne make Longbush Wines) and spending as much time in the sun as possible. We had such a good time we're already planning our next trip back in December :)

  4. How lovely it must be, to have such a continuation, to be able to stand in the place where your great-grandparents lived. Sometimes it is odd to remember that actually Israel (where I live) is such a young country - my grandparents came here when they were 20, my great-grandparents never set a foot here, I would have to go to Germany, England, France, Romania and Russia to be in the places where all my great-grandparents used to live, I am slightly jealous!

Anyway, the cliffs and the sea look so tranquil! I know it's winter where you are, but it looks so much like summer :)
