Staying In Is The New Going Out!

Tonight I took part in a bloggers challenge set by Money Supermarket. The goal was to create the best night in possible, with a budget of only £50 (or $100NZD as it is in my case). I'll be honest - I was pretty tempted to spend it all on wine + cheese, but I thought it was probably time to try something a little different!

So instead I spent half the money on a waffle maker and the other half on a huge selection of toppings and the pictures above are the results! Jeremy and I and our flatmates have spent the night mixing and matching all the different flavour combo's and indulging as much as possible while watching reruns of Veronica Mars. (Gotta have a refresh before the movie comes out next year!).

So I'd say yes, you can definitely have a good night in on a budget (I probably would have had just as much of a good night with a budget half this size too) xx

  3. I wanted a waffle maker in what feels like forever, but now that I see your awesome creations, I finally need to take the plunge and get one for myself. Hmmm, the chocolate waffle = l.o.v.e.

So true, you wouldn't need that big of a budget next time though! Might have to try this tomorrow night :)

  7. Looks like a perfect night in to me. I got a waffle maker last Christmas as a secret santa gift and it has been such a fun and yummy addition.

  12. I LOVE staying in, I'm such a homebody. Luckily my bf loves staying in too! I've never made waffles, or pancakes for that matter (in my mind they fall into the same category), but this is a great idea - we should totally try that!

Btw, if you don't mind me asking - how come that you have flatmates? I was under the impression that you and Jeremy lived alone.

    Have a wonderful day,
    Leore-Joanne :)

    1. Hi Leore! Jeremy and I lived alone for our first 4.5 years of marriage but this year our friends moved to Auckland and since they're students + so is my husband we decided to flat together to save on costs :) Auckland is quite an expensive city to live in!
