My First Half Marathon

This is something I've been talking about for years and now it's finally happening: in November I'll be running my first ever half marathon! I'm pretty excited and have so many things I want to tell you all about it!

Firstly, it's not just me - Jeremy will be running it with me too which is awesome (he's a great training buddy). And most excitingly - we'll be running on behalf of the New Zealand Mental Health Foundation! We're really happy to partner with such an awesome charity and to be able to raise funds and awareness for them along the way.

I'll be checking in with a blog post on my progress most weeks leading up to the event - how the training is going, my goals and challenges along the way and how I'm progressing with this journey. I'm pretty excited!

I've also just set up an official sponsor page if you'd like to be one of the first to donate. It would really mean so much to me as this is a charity that I really believe in. Click here to donate if you'd like to!

  1. I'm so impressed. It sounds to me to be one of the hardest things to do. Now I have to admit I have trouble getting to the end of the street running, so I guess that's part of my outlook on marathons. But still. I applaud you! Good luck and most of all: Have fun!

  5. Hello Amanda and Jeremy ... welcome to the Mental Health Foundation running Team ... also my first (and possibly my last half marathon) really looking forward to the event ... the training is so much fun (not) as I prefer riding to running! I'll look out for you at the start line ... you will most probably be home by the time I finish. All the best - Philip
