Today on the way into the city for a meeting we stopped by one of our favourite spots at the top of Mt Eden to appreciate the view. It really is beautiful to see Auckland stretching out beneath you in all directions! We were battling some high winds though, so that's why you'll notice my hands are in my hair in nearly every shot - that's my attempt to smoosh it down a bit so I don't look so crazy! Haha. 

I also can't believe that today is the last day of January!! This year is off to such a speedy start. It's been an incredible month though, with such perfect summer weather so I can't really complain. Tomorrow is another contributor post and this time it's a cupcake recipe (with quite an interesting flavour combo!) so make sure you check back for that xx

So Jeremy and I have been talking and thought we would start a little feature called His & Hers for sharing some of our favourite things. We thought it would be fun to share both of our perspectives on some every day things. Today we're kicking it off with our favourite movies but I thought I should preface it by saying - although we've split these into our own categories there are definitely plenty of movies that overlap as well! I love a good action movie just as much as Jeremy and he almost cried with laughter at Bridesmaids, but for now we tried to keep our lists different, to keep it interesting :) Here we go!

Enjoying the Everyday

I've been trying to use my camera more and more lately. Usually I only have it in tow if I know we're going to be taking blog pictures but now I'm trying to record day to day moments in life as well. It's nice to appreciate the little things and to document these memories along the way. This kinda sums up what life has been like lately - lots of healthy food, lots of reading, lots of exercise and hanging out with the pets. It's been good :)

It's a long weekend here in New Zealand and the weather has been perfect for it. We haven't been up to anything too exciting, just relaxing at a friends pool, going for runs, reading and spending as much time in the sun as possible. I can't help but feeling like this summer is almost at an end so I'm trying to make the most of every day left of it. It's been the best summer we've had in years and I'll be a little sad when it's over! 

Anyway, hope you're all enjoying your weekend too! I think we might head to the movies today - I've heard Django Unchained is definitely worth the watch x

Smoothie Sundays | Berry Smoothie

Hi all, Amanda has asked me to do a little series on her blog called Smoothie Sundays, probably because I often make a smoothie a day as a snack. I'll be popping in occasionally on a Sunday to share my latest smoothie recipe.

For this one you might have noticed I used frozen berries, but fresh is always best. Wherever possible go as fresh and un-processed as you can. Just throw all the ingredients in the blender with the heaviest on top and give it a whizz.

This is a great way for non fruit lovers to get something fresh into their diet or a meal replacement for those wanting to lose weight. Or if you are like me, have a couple of these in between meals as a way to put on weight :P

This has got to be one of my favourite dresses I've had this summer. I love the combination of colours, the vintage pattern and how it's such a simple and flattering fit. There's always a risk when ordering dresses online so I always breathe a sigh of relief when they arrive and end up fitting the way I was wanting them to!

Hi all! I'm Laura from BOOKM▲▲RKS and I'm very excited to be a contributor on Here Comes The Sun this year where I'll be sharing some findings and inspirations on film photography. More and more people start to go back to analogue because of its different imperfection such as the vignette, the noise, the blur or light leaks that are considered as beauty, which is what makes analogue different to digital. To get you in the mood, today I'd like to share with you a few showcases of film photographs taken by celebrities.

It really is not a surprise that Sofia takes amazing pictures. Her typical style of movies usually have those beautiful stills and quiet scenes which are just perfect for nice photography settings and she's definitely got the eye for it.

 Here are just a few snap shots that Elijah took over his trip to Baja, California. Apparently Elijah has been a lomographer for years! It's really fun to go through his personal photographs and see that a celeb's normal day to day life is not always glamourus, they too can have fun the way we do. See more of Elijah's photos here 

Angelina Jolie shot by Brad Pitt 

I'm really happy that I come across this personal collection of Jolie's black and white portraits taken by Mr Pitt himself! These photos were first made public exclusively on W Magazine and even made it to their cover. I didn't know that Brad Pitt has interests in photography before, I mean, look how amazing these photos are. See more photos here. 

 So that's all I've got for today. I know there are other celebs who are using analogue such as Audrey Tautou, Elle Fanning or Alexa Chung but I've never really come across the actual photos taken by them. Have you spotted any other celebs? Hope this inspires you. I for sure one who will try to take my film cameras out more this year and just shoot. See you next time!
